I'm not sure we've had any publicity about this at work: I sent a link to the article to my colleague who keeps the stock of stamps, with the comment "I'm sure you're all over this!" to be told they'd heard nothing about it! We've now started sending the 'old' stamps back.
We had to go to the Post Office on Wednesday, to pay some money in, and she took an envelope of stamps to hand in, preferring that to trusting them to a normal post box.

Addressed, as instructed, to Freepost Swap Out.

Yesterday, it was returned, with RTS? scrawled on the front.

She's waiting to see if she gets any swaps from the smaller value stamps she's already sent off, hoping to get a number to phone and complain.

    My colleague is not amused.

If you write that address on your own envelope, you can then get a proof of posting when you hand it over the PO counter.  That might be useful is it goes astray.

  • I sent around £20 worth to the swap out address on 25 Aug. I called the RM CS telephone number on 13 Sep and they couldn't give me any update. A tweet to RM was answered that "the aim to swap out was 7 working days but please allow longer due to high volumes". Now the 27 Sep and still nothing.

I have got proof of posting and pictures of stamps and swap out form for backup.

    Hello,
How long before you get the new stamps? I sent almost 2 weeks ago and not received anything yet.
I am relationship expert. Don't feel shy, say hello.
  • I sent mine on 22 September and got the replacements back today.
  •  Anybody else sent their non-barcoded stamps to Royal Mail and not had them replaced after “ 7 working days”. My wife sent 52 first class stamps back to Royal Mail 4 weeks ago tomorrow via their official swap out form and free post address. Still not received the barcoded stamps despite emails and phone calls. WHAT A SCAM
I know they have had odd days of strikes but 4 WEEKS is disgusting

-and possibly the most aggravating thing is that you can use the 'old' stamps until end of July now!
Pleased I haven't sent any off- yet!

Hopefully you have some kind of receipt? I know you can send large amounts by registered mail (or whatever it is called these days) and that cost will be refunded in stamps. Not sure how large a sum - probably over £200. Read about  it this week but I don't have quite that amount.

  • I sent off 8 first class and 6 second class stamps - took about 3 weeks and got 14 first class stamps back so I can't complain.  I used their form and envelope from the post office
