Thanks, I don’t seem to have that option on the phone version of the site. I’ll have a look on the computer!Olly_J said:SlinkyWeevil said:Where did you find the rates for the new tariff? They’ve emailed me today but only given me a price comparison (which is either double or quadruple what we pay now) but no info on the actual standing charges or unit prices?
In the Sainsbury portal, Account Summery screen, click the change tariff button and you'll see the available options, and unit prices under full details for each0 -
I don't have that option on the proper website either, and customer support say it becomes available when your tariff is due for renewal, so sometime in September for me (as it expires October 10th). There won't be any decent fixes available on that date so I'll just stick with the SVR and ride the waveSlinkyWeevil said:

Should be available soon. My tariff ends on September 28th and I got an email about a week ago giving my fix options and a link to the website giving me all the details. Emailing/calling customer support also works if you want to switch earlier but you'll probably be put on the new tariff straight away.Astria said:

If you take on the new tariff withing the 45 days before the fix ends most suppliers will let you finish the existing fixed tariff.
Seems they will only start offering you new tariffs once you are within the 45 days. That next Friday or Saturday depending how they calculate it. Hopefully before the cap announcement.

Sainsburys told me that you can only keep your existing tariff once you receive the renewal email from them (presumably 45 days) and if you switch before you get the email you are switched to the new tariff straightaway. It could just be the one customer support agent who told me that but they claimed it was policy.pochase said:If you take on the new tariff withing the 45 days before the fix ends most suppliers will let you finish the existing fixed tariff.

Well subtracting 45 days from the 10th October gives me 26th August - isn't that the date of the cap announcement? :I think I should start putting gas into bottles and saving them for winter

I'm leaning towards taking the Smooth Renew v20 - which means I'll be on my existing fix until October. Also have 14 days to cool off, during which Ofgem will make their announcement. I get the sense that SRv20 won't be available for long and the next one will be more expensive.Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.0

I've opted for Smooth Renew v20 too. Did the sums for projected SVT increases vs Smooth Renew tariff based on annual use and Smooth Renew comes out best...as others have said option to opt out in cooling off period and no exit fees. Maybe of interest to some...Smooth Renew also comes with extra Nectar points on shopping "Customers renewing onto this tariff from a fix and reward tariff are eligible to receive 2 additional points for each pound spent in Sainsbury’s stores (triple points) for dual fuel tariffs, 1 additional point if you are a single fuel customer (double points), up to a maximum of 3,500 points per fuel per annum"

I actually cancelled my Nectar card because I hardly shopped in Sainsburys and it wasn't worth the hassle, but when they gave me 2000 points for signing up I created anotherGreenCustomer said:Smooth Renew also comes with extra Nectar points on shopping "Customers renewing onto this tariff from a fix and reward tariff are eligible to receive 2 additional points for each pound spent in Sainsbury’s stores (triple points) for dual fuel tariffs, 1 additional point if you are a single fuel customer (double points), up to a maximum of 3,500 points per fuel per annum"
