Cancelling Double Glazing

  • In any case it's not fair to expect to cancel with nothing to pay - they've measured up and spent some time on the project and deserve to be paid for this as a minimum.
If they've already placed the order you're at their mercy.

I never understand why people order things like double glazing and change their mind - it's such a huge investment; any thinking about if it's a good idea should be done before agreeing a contract.

    Thanks for the information.

The reason I was considering cancelling was because another quote I had been waiting for came back slightly cheaper.

However the company I booked with seems more reliable anyway and can carry out the work much faster so I’ll be sticking with them. Was only considering cancelling if it was a straight forward process, judging by the responses this is not the case!

The measurement was done before the contract was accepted so is irrelevant - if the quote had been rejected they'd have had no comeback.  The issue would have been if the company had ordered the windows.

People change their mind on big projects because circumstances change and new information comes to light.  e.g.  Something happens that reprioritises how you want to spend your money, or you find out something about the company you've engaged that wasn't previously obvious.

Seems like the OP isn't cancelling anyway, so moot point.
