We switch from Virgin to a proper, non-domestic provider tomorrow evening. Hoorah!
I do the company's IT support and I was getting so sick of all the calls.
'I can't send mail'
'It's too slow'
If you were lucky, there was an amber light on the status page, but more often, virgin just pretended the problem didn't exist, and didn't bother to answer that rip-off rate tech support line they've got now. A router reset did improve things on one occasion... but when the speed dropped from 4k+ down to a point where uploading was FASTER than downloading, we just had to sit tight until they got their finger out.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

Not the most reliable status line. A couple of weeks ago it was down for 2 days but the status line said everything was fine. You can chat to Virgin tech people online to save the cost of the phone calls which I did and they said it was a known problem..0

I was on NTL/Virgin for some years, always found it a speedy and reliable service. Have now switched to Sky just to get Sky One TV, and their broadband is just as good. No problems with either system (touch wood!)0
