US Car hire prices vary from .com - .co.uk why?

I am looking to book a car in Seattle next may and want to pay in advance. however when I look at the price on the US website 9.com) the cost for an economy vehicle is about $270, on the UK site for a pickup at the same location at the same times £570? (appx $700). I can't see anything on the US site stating a foreign national can't book on there, I have th right credit card and IDP etc. 

Is there something I'm missing? Both are with Alamo as they have a good rating in Seattle.

From what I remember, the US prices in most cases don't include all the insurance options which are included on UK sites, whereas in the US, it is just the minimum included often excluding CDW etc.

That was extremely useful thank you. Looked this afternoon and booking in $ with all the required insurances is still cheaper than booking in £ on the .co.uk but much more than the first price. least I know ill be fully covered now!
