Can you not just put a lock on your gate with a combination lock so you don't need to carry a key?1

Abba fan is right - how would delivery people access...the postman cuts across both places anyway and would use her gate....i would know if i am expecting a delivery and obviously know when people are visiting.......my only worry regarding a padlock is whether she will do anything insane or key my car again.....
it does have to be a fence right down (as its at the front it can only be 3 foot apparently...sadly) or i have to move....0 -
Good luck moving - will you have a q of folk ready to buy your place?Although 'mentally ill', she is aware enough to 'know exactly what she is doing'?In which case, you need to nail this down so there are no grey areas. If she is 'aware', then there is only one thing that will stop her. (Well, two, but let's not go there...) She needs to have a firm line drawn that she knows she cannot cross - I'm talking metaphorically. Any breach and you take action.Make sure your CCTV is working well and covering the whole of your property that she could have access to. Where is your car parked? Is this covered too?Check your deeds to ensure there isn't a quirk in your front garden that dictates it needs to be kept open and without a physical boundary. (Even if it is, this is surely trumped by you having the right to secure your property?) In the very unlikely event that there IS such a restriction, then you need legal advice, or just be even more ready to act on any breach. So, put up fence. Drop this charming lady a note - make sure it's witnessed or recorded. Don't pussyfoot - state clearly and unambiguously that you are aware she has been trespassing on your land, and you are giving her notice that all such actions must cease forthwith - she does NOT have permission to come on to, or interfere with, any of your property.Do NOT lock or padlock your gate - that's nuts. You want that front gate to be accessible to you and all valid visitors at all times. And you call the police and start an anti-social action against her using the LA should she breach this.DON'T be intimidated by her - that's EXACTLY what she wants. Protect yourself, and challenge all her unacceptable behaviour.Draw a line. Make a bludy nuisance of yourself to the police and the LA. Make it clear to them the stress you are being put under by these vindictive actions. You are ENTITLED to ENJOY living in your own home!1
