MSE News: Asda launches first-ever loyalty scheme offering discounts on groceries

The Telegraph has printed an interesting essay on the decline of Asda:
Asda has become an embarrassment. Its old boss thinks he can fix it.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
If I could afford to subscribe to The Telegraph I wouldn't be shopping at the ASDA Supermarket. I would be up the west end at Waitrose etc.
And whilst I cant read it I will summarise what I "think" it says. Walmart sold it to people who ran petrol stations. They are used to selling things at higher prices, because that is what happens at a petrol station. They tried to do that at ASDA so put up the prices but brought out a reward scheme thinking the public wouldn't notice the price rises. The public did notice and went to ASDA less. ASDA is now in a mess.
If I am wrong, I can't be far wrong.0 -

If I am wrong, I can't be far wrong.I don't subscribe & had no bother opening the link [Firefox browser]Nearly right in summary, you missed out,Borrowed money to buy ASDA, interest rates went up, repayments went up, ASDA prices went up to pay the banks they borrowed from.

There's almost no point scanning your Rewards card now. I have one mission on mine (buy 2 selected magazines and get £1). I never buy magazines. Even the ridiculous get 50p when you reach £100 spend has gone. No coupons either.
Now onto the local store. No dedicated Scan & Go tills, they've been closed off for many months. Not enough staff one of the staff told us. Customer toilets all out of action for three weeks. A problem with the drains outside another member of staff told us.1 -
5% Cashback on the BlueLightCard for now. That will do me.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Milestone mission now added, my first is 50p for £30, and a couple of vouchers, £3 off a PS5 game and £2 off £10 spend on garden. No extra missions though.0

Mine is 50p for a £40 spend - forget it! I've got the magazine and video game "incentives" which are anything but.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Hi there, I know it's a free app so I can't really complain, but what's happened to this app of late?
New offers were promised 13th March and they never materialised, the usual thing where you earn money just for spending hasn't been on the app in ages, and the only "offer" seems to be one where you get £1 for buying magazines, which I have no interest in.
Or is it just me and everyone else is earning a shed load through it currently?0 -
Oh there is a Scan and Win offer on the outdoor range but I barely buy things from that section.0
