Sadly the drive next to the tank does make it fall foul of the HSE rules on LPG tanks, not just for 1 firm but all firms. This is because not only should nothing drive over an LPG tank but a vehicle is a fixed source of ignition when it starts its engine.
regarding the driveway, I agree and thats why I asked Calor about it on my call to them. They didnt seem at all concerned though, and the tank and driveway have been the same since we moved there 15 years ago, and probably since the house was built in mid 90s. Its an above ground tank so we dont drive over it, but it is right next to the drive, and not the suggested distance away that they state on their website.
Should I be asking them to come out and look at it?0 -
Please, do look at the other threads on this forum.I am paying 29p/l, which was fixed for two years and expires in October. I am expecting to renew it for 3xp/l, fixed for 2 years.ABSOLUTELY you should haggle over the price. Get a quote from everyone you can find, and ask them to fix the price for two years. Tell your current supplier the cheapest quote and ask them to match it.The owner of the tank - most likely your current supplier - has a legal responsibility to keep the tank compliant with LPG regulations. Get another supplier to list down exactly how they think the tank is not compliant, and ask your current supplier to correct it. Calor gas moved my tank and replaced all the pipework, all I had to pay for was a concrete base in the new location. The Bulk LPG thread in this section has almost 400 pages of posts and it is very well worth reading through at least the last 20 or so pages ..If what I said helped you, please "Thank" the relevant post. It cheers me up somewhat..1

Regarding the lack of transparency on domestic bill tank LPG I thought it important to share my current price experience with the forum. I was paying 76p/ litre since April 2022 . Previously 60p/ l. My current supplier would not negotiate despite several phone calls. Another supplier offered 47p/ litre fixed for 1 year. When they contacted my supplier to take over the tank my supplier offered 51p/ltr without requiring any negotiation from me.There whole pricing structure needs reforming as any loyalty is not rewarded.. please share the price that can be obtained .
