There is already an Odeon defence in the NEWBIES thread but it's a ParkingEye one.  A bit different.

Use the wording from that example defence to fill in the 'facts' section in the new template defence.  It will take more paragraphs than just para 3.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • I have today gotten the claim forms from the registered keeper and have assisted them with the AoS on MCOL, so thank you for that.

I have informed the registered keeper re writing to the property manager, Odeon manager and their MP and will assist them with that.

The registered keeper has chronic illnesss as mentioned which includes memory issues so I will have to do the heavy lifting and just explain it all to them along the way.

Just to confirm, the issue date of the claim was 03 August 2022 and it is Northampton address on the claim form.

@Coupon-mad - I know this is a lot to ask but could you possibly post a link to the odeon defence you mention, I am trying to find it on my own but my own learning disability makes this really hard going. I understand if you don't have time to do that though. I really appreciate your advice thus far.

    Good stuff, well done.

Please open the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement and do a Ctrl+F on 'Odeon', and there it is.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

With a Claim Issue Date of 3rd August, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 5th September 2022 to file your Defence.

That's over three weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

As others have said, everything must be done in the name of the named Defendant.

Thank you, I really appreciate all the help provided thus far and the encouragement.

  • This is probably a stupid question but does it make any difference that the defendant is no longer the keeper of this vehicle?  The vehicle was stolen in 2017 but it was after the alleged parking offence.

    No difference what so ever

How do I attach a copy of the defence as it's too long to paste here?

Should I also upload the photos that the registered keeper has taken in 2022 of the signage including the view from the car wherein the signs are not visible

Please only show us those paragraphs of the template Defence that you have changed.
Please don't show us all the unchanged stuff, we don't need to see that again.

If you ever find it necessary to make a long post, then split it over two or more posts.
