OP - please just break it down - you have said you take meter readings monthly yourself so you have the records.

    Gas - reading August 2021
    Gas - reading August 2022
    Electricity - Reading August 2021
    Electricity - Reading August 2022

It's not overly complicated, and doesn't need pretty coloured graphs, just the straightforward numbers will allow people to offer their suggestions more effectively.

If it helps - we currently use 4700 kWa p/a electric, 270kWh p/a gas - and I expect to be paying in excess of £150 per month, going forwards.

The reason I asked about the suppliers estimated annual usage figure was that in your original post you said they had increased it by 300%? So presumably they have given it to you at some stage.

    New Offer:

    What I paying now....

Those numbers are not the current price cap, that is a fixed tariff they are offering despite calling Flexi. SVT capped rate is around 30p electric, 8p gas currently but will go up in Oct. As I said in my previous post it WILL be much more as you've been on a fix for 2 years and protected from any rises. The SVT cap is more than your previous bill but not as much (yet) as the fix offered
Thanks, so it seems the cap is quite a bit lower at the moment but then you risk getting big hikes later,
It's a certainty not a risk, as per the extensive current media coverage on the subject. The price capped standard variable rates will be going up a lot at the start of October.

If it makes you feel better Octopus are offering customers 75p unit on their fixed deals now, so yours is considerably better then that.

Even on a flexi part fixed tariff there is risk you are affected by increases.....as flexi fixed it not fixed right? They just throw the word in there to make a flexible tariff sound like it's same as fixed when it's not even close to a fixed tariff.

Good luck at switching away. You’re aware of just how limited any switching options are?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Don't forget even if your monthly DD does go up to £150 you will at the minimum get £550 this year. I mean that's nearly 4 payments for you and you are saying you won't pay.

Crazy talk the difference in your bill could be as little as £400

I am also guessing that when the next PM gets in more money will flow so you might actually break even or be better off.

How is this? Data pulled direct from Scottish Power for my usage sept 20 - sept 21. Separated gas/electric as they don't show them separate on website.

From your 20-21 year usage and the estimated price increase on October 1st.. your costs will be for the year (if no more price increase for the flooring year) £1455 for electric and £680 for gas + vat of £105 gives you at total cost of £2240 or £187 a month.
With the £400 help from the government that will bring your monthly costs down to £155 a month.

Now your graph usage for 21-22 looks higher but without actual kWh numbers I/we can't give you a figure for that, but it could be more if I based it off the 21-22 year.

Going back to the 20-21 year your electric usage is quite high for 2 people.
Your gas usage is pretty stable as you say but is quite high during spring summer and autumn months @200 kWh a month. So I'm guessing you having long showers or many showers (if combi boiler and or cooking with gas.
In comparison with me I use 80-120kwh a month during these months for 2 people.

Edit: now you need to decide if you would like to fix at a higher rate and not get hit by another possible price rises in the future. Or ride the roller coaster of a SVR tariff.

They have removed the other offer and have changed it to £209 a month direct debit, three times what we are paying now....

    Literally triple.

    This will cripple us.
