You likely wont really get a definitive answer I'm afraid. Whilst I expect RM will try and do POC clearances.
They only have so many people available.

spoke to someone of manager grade. They cleared POCs in the unit he was in.
However there is no guarantee nationally

Our main post office is adding an extra layer of complexity to the situation. Huge queues today (not in itself unusual) but with notices up saying they are not accepting any more post. There was a number of grumbles and complaints from the queue about having most of the counter area closed and manager came out to calm people down. Explained that the post man wasn’t collecting any post until Wednesday so they couldn’t take any- although it seems they would make an exception for people upgrading to signed for or special delivery. 

Someone quite rightly pointed out that Wednesday was a strike day so why would post be collected then but not today or Tuesday and manager wouldn’t really respond, just said they wouldn’t take post and if anything g was posted in the box it would stay there until Wednesday.

Most people insisted they still wanted to post , some were persuaded to upgrade services but they took my pre labelled items without a murmur , I just hope it doesn’t sit there for the best part of a week 😕

Sounds like tosh. Theres no reason RM wouldnt be collecting till Wednesday.
There can be capacity issues on vehicles but thats not an issue beyond getting additional capacity.
Today is a normal day with normal duties. So the POC is due clearance, like any other Saturday.

In the past I've been refused service on several occasions 'too busy to take business items' (that was 5 pre labelled boxes), 'can't take business bags on a Wednesday as one of their staff go home early ' (no idea about that one). Each and every time I take the clerks name and phone Post Office counters and ask for clarification on the rules and get told they are acting outside of the rules. This is our main central Post office, not a single person working in the back of a small newsagent.

With these types of issues. Im a big believer in Twitter outing.
Companies (RM/PO are the same) really dont like the Twitter attention in the main.
Recently I had to go at my gym group as there was equipment broken for months. It was obvious a higher level was holding up repairs. A twitter outing and CEO email quoting it had the repairs completed in days.

I struggled to find a Post Office open yesterday. The main one in town was closed with a typed message on the shutters advising where the nearest open one was.I drove there and it was closed.It took an internet search to find one open and they did accept parcels.
