Have they mentioned about extending expected delivery dates or can buyers still open cases within the same timeframe?
No but you  can of course extend your despatch time to say 7 days or so.

    Here's the full text:

    Information for all sellers

    Seller Protections

eBay will automatically protect your performance between Monday 22nd August and Monday 18th September for transactions for:

    • Your late delivery rate, which will be removed for transactions with estimated delivery dates between the above dates.
    • Your “item not received” count in your Service Metrics dashboard will be automatically removed. We will also remove any negative and neutral feedback relating to or arising from late or non delivery during this period.

As always, please upload tracking details when you dispatch an item. This helps to keep your buyers informed, and adding tracking details gives you additional protection.

All sellers who drop off parcels at Post Office, Royal Mail/Parcelforce parcel points and postboxes:

    • There will be very limited collections from these locations on strike days.
    • Post Offices, parcel post boxes and post boxes will still be available for drop offs.
    • There will be no Parcel Collect available on strike days.
    • Items posted before, during and after the strike days will be subject to delay.
    • You may experience longer than usual waiting times for Royal Mail Customer Service.

Just a bump to remind people that the first strike is this Friday and that the following Monday it is a bank holiday in the UK. I’m considering putting my holiday settings on tomorrow for 2 or 3 days to push my despatch time back and show a later estimated delivery.

I put my holiday settings on on Monday but didn’t block sales and strangely I have had more sales since then than in the whole previous week, including 2 high cost (for me) items that I have had listed for a while.

    Very strange!

I put mine on yesterday and got 4 sales. A lot less than normal but better than nothing. I'm always messaging the buyers after purchase to let them know in case they missed the message on the listing, that I won't be posting until next week. There has not been a problem yet.

Yesterday I changed my despatch time to 5 days. The estimated delivery date for my listings is now showing as September 2nd.  Orders are still coming in almost at normal level.

I'm still posting as normal while I can so hopefully I'll avoid any issues caused by the strikes .

Ive been privy to access to RMs internal Facebook page 'Workplace'.
Vibe im getting is the CEO is firm on no pay deal without serious T&Cs changes.
Reality is even with those its a 5% pay rise which isnt a fortune particularly with losses in payments as part of the pay deal.
I dont see this going quietly. Theres some moves by senior management thats obviously set to cause friction at local levels, which wont help clear strike backlogs

When putting Holiday settings on for eBay, does it cover all listings or can I just put them on for RM delivered items?

RM website says "On days when strike action is taking place:
    • We will deliver as many Special Delivery and Tracked24 parcels as possible
    • We will not be delivering letters (with the exception of Special Delivery) "

If I post a Special Delivery on the 31st is it likely to be collected that day and be delivered on the 1st or more likely to stay in the post office until the 1st?
