I find the idea completely cringe, but it seems kind of fitting now the younger generation can no longer be bothered to type or write and instead prefer to create videos.
^ This and I think most sellers would feel the same; it's a barmy idea. There are some situations where a video has its place but making an offer on a house is not one of them. Why make a seller sit through a 50 second video when they can read a text or email with exactly the same pertinent information in just 5 seconds?
Perhaps in ten years time, when the younger generation who have been brought up on these kinds of videos are the ones selling, it may be less bizarre but it's still a time-wasting solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Although I suspect that most of the type of people who are influenced by influencers will probably never be in a position to be buying their own home anyway... :D

Totally pointless!! It's not a job interview....

We realised we were being 'interviewed' when viewing a house with the vendor. We'd previously noticed the newbuild nearby and had worked out this was the house the vendor was moving into, therefore we were being assessed as potential next door neighbours. Our offer was accepted despite a higher one from somebody else. However, assessment works both ways, during our purchase, the vendor exhibited some behaviour we didn't like, and we decided we didn't want to live next door to him and have him using the rights of way he had created, across our garden, and to stop us keeping our bins where he had been storing his.

Take with a pinch of salt when a job interviewer says it's a two way thing. It is clear where the power lies

You have obviously not interviewed in a competitive Job market looking for good talent, it is far from clear where the power lies. In fact at the moment I would say in many industries the power lies with the talent in many cases.

Its a business transaction. There should be no emotions involved.

There is no need for a video, life story or the need to make a pal.

However as a buyer it is sometimes wise to probe the seller as to there financial / selling position. As a buyer you only need to show you are able to complete the transaction and have access to funds. Because all the buyer is interested in is getting there money in a prompt transaction.

    Over keenness can cost money.

(job interviews , you give/tell the interviewer what he wants too hear. They are after a good worker and someone that will fit in.)
