Submitting a buying offer by video

I should add if you are going to listen to an estate agent waffling on John Savage seems to talk a lot of sense although quite brutal at times.

This sounds like a ridiculous idea. May as well do a little dance too!
If I received such a video I would reject the offer as it makes you seem over the top and waaaaay too excitable and someone who would be a nightmare during the whole process.99.9% of sellers are only interested in a few things
1. how much is your offer
2. your financial situation…mortgage, cash, house to sell etc.
The above two questions are the EA job. No seller will want to see a ‘this is your life’ video!

Email or call is good enough.
The main thing they want to know is your offer and buying psotion.1 -
Totally pointless!! It's not a job interview....1

Blimey. Haven't wasted any of my life looking at any of his actual videos, but imagine if he's applying for a mortgage on your behalf, is he going to send a video about you to Halifax selling your situation? Or worse still, is he going to suggest that you'll need to submit a request for money by video too?Influencer. Ugghh.Make £2026 in 2026

To be fair, even for a job interview it might not be the best move.trakky14 said:Totally pointless!! It's not a job interview....
I remember years ago, one of the applicants for a job we were advertising submitted the most cringe-worthy video CV imaginable. A for effort, I guess. Did it get them an interview? Nope. Did we end up re-watching it at least 10 times over the years because it was so unfortunately comical? Absolutely.9 -
It's really creepy, don't do itBrokenlynx said:So over the last year or so I've looked at some YouTube videos from a mortgage broker/influencer by the name of Alex Kerr.
One of the tips I've seen appear a few times on his channel is to submit an offer with a video. So basically this would entail not just sending the agent an email with your offer number but also including a video that would maybe introduce yourself, state your current situation, why you like their property and why you are making the offer.
Do people think this is a good idea? Or, has anyone here done this or received offers like this in the past? If you were going to do this what detail would you include? And are agents agreeable to doing this?
Any help is appreciated with this question, thanks in advance.4 -
I have received quite a few video offers. Some are good , some less so, but if they don’t make a video then they ain’t getting my house!0

It would just annoy me TBH - I'd much rather just get an email with the details of your offer from my EA/solicitor. If this was becoming a "thing" I'd be asking them to intercept all such videos and send me the details in writing.3

It is a terrible idea ( but I suspect the OP is just trying to draw traffic to that particular YouTube account)...10
