I am constantly being overcharged!

I tend to use one of the self-service ASDA hand scanners as I go around the store and can often find discrepancies between the shelf sticker and what displays on the hand held scanner. So used to now taking a picture on my phone of the offending shelf tab and then having the supervisor at the self serve trolly shop tills correct the price charged on my shop.0 -
Seems like supermarkets need to go back to checking things before the store opens.....
Yeah we're really busy tho.... yeah but covid tho..... yeah but we're understaffed tho.... yeah it happens everywhere, no biggie.... it's only 10p....etc etc
No professionalism.I had a hen who could count her own eggs - she was a mathemachicken.0 -

No professionalism.
Instead of of admitting a mistake has been made & apologising.

I really do not see an issue with bringing a price discrepancy to attention of staff/manager - I look at it as feedback. Am I wrong on my take on this? It is no big deal - shop made a mistake and I am pointing it out so it can be rectified - I am not angry as long as it is resolved and I get a good feeling in the hope the next customer will be charged the right price.2

In the past If I noticed I had been overcharged, it really bothered me, like I had been robbed. Thinking about it, there have been times where I have been on the receiving end of a good deal, so concluded it probably balanced out.
I'm now of the opinion that what I dont know wont hurt me and I now dont spend my time moaning and groaning and seething about what really boils down to a mistake.
As I said I know this is controversial but I just find that if I was overcharged I just kept thinking about how cross it made me feel. I do though think I would know if there was a big error, it should hopefully be obvious.

The reason why shops are happy to have you leave without a paper receipt is because some customers will have an electronic receipt as part of their loyalty card/app account. Customers are also being captured on video as they pass through the checkouts (in fact, some shops' self-service tills are now "selfie"-service as they show you video of yourself scanning your shopping).1

I agree! im usually very careful checking each item on the screen at self checkout and have noticed several recently where Ive been charged more that the SEL price and had to have it corrected by a colleague. I work at a supermarket and know how chronically short staffed every department is, I think its an issue of not being able to keep up with labelling due to constant price increases. I just checked a receipt from Just For Pets this morning, been charged 7.49 for something that had SEL price of 5.99! kicking myself for not checking at the time, will go back in on way to work tomorrow as 1.50 is a bit bloody steep0

Unless us (the customers) point out these errors, everyone will be overcharged. For the past 4 weeks, 2.5 Kg of Baking Potatoes have been consistently overcharged by 10p. 10p you say - that's nothing... but how many tonnes do they sell a day? Multiply that by every shop and you're talking a huge amount every day. I'm a shareholder in Sainsbury's but resigned to being a thorn in their side until they get their act together!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661

Popped into a bargain discount store, bought 3 bags of dog dental chews, there was a shelf label, showing £1. I handed over the 3 × pound coins just as the store assistant said £3.87 please.
I queried it, the bell was rung and young Ryan was sent to check, he came back and said it was the product next to it that was £1.
Afterwards I went to check for myself. Mysteriously there was now no shelf label.
