I am constantly being overcharged!

My local Sainsbury's is a hotbed of overcharging with my use of Smart Shop. The main culprits are the vegetable aisle and the snacks and crisp aisle. I think the staff must see me approaching and shudder. However.... if every shopper is being overcharged just 10p - that's hundreds of pounds a month, just on one item. I'm a shareholder in Sainsbury's, but don't want dividends at that cost!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

Where are the labels printed? (I have no idea of how the system works).1 -
A friend does mystery shopping, and one of the regular things she is asked to check is that the shelf edge prices match what she was charged - they wouldn't be paying her to check on that if there wasn't a problem.Much as I hate the too loud beeps, they do help highlight where the machine has scanned one item twice as it moved past. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Possibly the only way that could be over-ridden would be if the customer called the shop assistant to say the till was wrong and that all items had indeed been added.2 -
I think this is a growing issue as prices seem to be constantly changing (mostly up), I guess it's hard to keep the prices on the shelf updated. I have had success previously emailing custom service when I get home, attaching a photo of the receipt and quite often they've posted £5/£10 vouchers out as a refund/apology. If you don't notice until you get home I think that's a good strategy as it does pay with the vouchers often being much more than the over charge and I do think it's important not to let companies overcharge you.1

I'm not saying it was infallible, but any mistakes were human error and we were pulled up for it. As soon as a customer spotted a 'wrong' price a new label was printed or the computer changed the till price so they aligned.
I don't think prices are changing so many times a day the staff can't keep up....Why does Sherlock Holmes love Mexican restaurants? Because they give him case ideas.2 -

I know this is controversial but I have stopped checking my receipts. If a shop asks me if I would like one I say no thankyou.
In the past If I noticed I had been overcharged, it really bothered me, like I had been robbed. Thinking about it, there have been times where I have been on the receiving end of a good deal, so concluded it probably balanced out.
I'm now of the opinion that what I dont know wont hurt me and I now dont spend my time moaning and groaning and seething about what really boils down to a mistake.
As I said I know this is controversial but I just find that if I was overcharged I just kept thinking about how cross it made me feel. I do though think I would know if there was a big error, it should hopefully be obvious.1 -
