Warning ! iPhone upgrade destroyed my iPhone 7

Well I finally have a named Apple representative via email. They kept telling me it was consumer law and that I should contact the phone supplier. I said it was the law of damages because the phone worked until the their upgrade destroyed it. I’m happy to send the phone off for examination as it’s a brick anyway. I would settle for a repair as I have already ordered a new phone from the Ioutlet. The manager of the repair shop is going to write something for me, however they can only write was is seen not speculate on what caused it. Privately they said they can hardly keep up with battery replacements after the latest upgrades!
