Morning all
Hot and frazzled couple of days and paid stuff a bit of a nightmare ; situation as sorted as it can be now though. Amber heat alert here so my flying jobs will be quick and done early! I’m also going to start work early so time now to get myself moving. Back in a while x

Morning all. I joined the WAC at about 4.15 because it was stuffy in my bedroom. Flung open all the curtains and the windows that were on the "crack" latch, pulled down all the blinds at the front, opened the back door to let Rosie out and left it open to get movement of cooler air through the house - much better now.
I didn't do much cooking yesterday. DH prepared breakfast; I took my friend A out for lunch at our local GC; and in the evening DH and I had an excellent and not overpriced steak at a local pub/restaurant. Mustn't make a habit of this, but it was all good
Today I'm not going to have time for much Flying from the list: K is coming tomorrow to help me put on clean bedding, so I must finish filing the family papers (4 generations of one line, including several 2nd marriages) that are currently spread over my bed, the c-o-d, a chair, the linen basket, the spare bed, the piano stool, my desk ... you get the picture! I also have to start tying up some loose ends of unfinished treasurer's business for a handover at the end of the month. I am taking 6 months off all voluntary work to concentrate on my family, friends and health needs.
DD2&co are visiting us on Sunday and have requested a cake, and I know that K will appreciate some more scones (her two girls are away with their cousins for the weekend), so I want to do some baking later, when it's cooler in the kitchen. At the same time I'll use the oven to heat up the defrosted pastichio for our tea.
Keep cool, calm and collected, everyone xx

Have a lovely time ASB cant beat camping when the weather is good.
Been for a little run and done my stretch video whilst slurping coffee. Paid stuff at home this morning even though I have already done my hours for the week.
I get to see my brother and niece tomorrow which I am so looking forward to. Mum has invited us around for a buffet tea which is lovely but last time she did a buffet every single thing had meat in it (think sausage rolls, pies, beef sandwiches, cheese and ham quiche), and I am not a strict vegetarian but I really struggled to eat the things she had made. So I am now wondering if I could take a veggie quiche for everyone to share, and whether that would upset her.
Anyway, I need a shower then on with the day. Hope everyone manages in this heat, I need to try and fly a little.10 -
YL, yes take a quiche, or ask your mother if she can also make suitable veggie sandwiches as well.Windows open, curtain closed.Water out for cats in garden topped upSun shades upWM done all hung outEby sale, I have finally found item, and packaged it up, was thinking along the lines of giving a refund, but found it eventually, it had got hidden under some marker pens.Off out walking now!Local horse show is cancelled owing to heat and hard groundOH is taking me to the fun fair tonight, it is walking distance, not been to one for years and years so should be amusing, do folk our ages go to such things, I guess we will find out.Dispite how dry it is here, for the last 2 mornings there has been dew on the 'grass' and cars.Keep coolBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I haven't been able to keep up with Fred for some weeks, for which I apologise. I did read a few posts here and there, meaning to catch up but that's as far as I got. I'm so sorry about LittleyDog, Jazee. (((Hugs))) because I know how hard it is to get used to the gap they leave.I have to get two rooms ready for a couple of arrivals this weekend and I am not looking forward to that this afternoon as it is now 32 degrees. I really shouldn't leave it to the last minute, should I?Better is good enough.10

Hello all,
Too hot to fly here, even if I was of half a mind to. Twot, to quote a flylady friend. I would give my eye teeth for some dew and a bit of autumnal weather.
Mount Ironmore is still mocking me, dinners have somehow appeared on the table without any oven assistance due to the heat, work has been done, dust is still there.
ASB - have a lovely time x
YL - take the quiche. I am with you on the food front. She doesn’t even have to have it labelled as veggie, which might make it easier for you. It’s just A Quiche. Which happens to be meat free.

Today's pitiful total:
- filled bird feeders
- watered stuff
- put a load of washing on
- did a bit more of the report which has been dragging on far too many days - it's an easy one but my study is just too hot, even now at 10..45pm. Must finish it over the weekend even if I have to do it on the laptop in the garage.....
- wrote shopping list as I can return from coffee/lunch with a friend via Ald1 tomorrow and we have friends coming round for dinner on Sunday. It will likely be a salad with some cold stuff from Mr A, unless I can bear to cook a quiche or something. i have a simple recipe for a lemon pudding - lemon curd, an egg white and double cream. My SIL did it recently and it was delicious so I'm hoping mine will be.
Tomorrow we're meant to be getting the 36/37 degrees which I'm not relishing. Still taking hay fever tablets which is unheard of this time of year but seems to help a bit; seem to be resorting to Ibuprofen every afternoon too for the headache, despite drinking loads of water. Perhaps I'll spend a few hours in Mr A as at least it will be cool.
Stay cool people.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -

my new job does throw up some random, and enjoyable, experiences (not least access to lattes) and I held a week-old Guinea pig yesterday. We’d gone to a local charity to borrow some cups and saucers and they’d got a petting zoo in for a service user’s birthday.
This clearly did me a lot of good…and my ironing pile is no more.

Morning all,
I have scaled Mount Ironmore this morning - except DH’s shirts 😈. And I am now collapsed in a heap on the settee, drinking copious amounts of water. I really ought to clean the grubby bathrooms, but…
DD wants us all to go out for the day to the big city. I’m trying to muster energy from somewhere, as I seem to have got up more tired than when I went to bed. People are more important than bathrooms, just need to get my head into the zone.
Have a lovely day. Keep in the shade, keep drinking that water.10
