I went to this MSE article Identity theft protection:.
Identity Theft Protection : Avoid Credit Card ID Fraud – MSE (moneysavingexpert.com)
which has a link to the forum. Which goes to here
ID Fraud Protection: Loophole to get it free discussion - Page 10 — MoneySavingExpert Forum
This thread has been closed to new posts since 2014
The article also links to the credit score article which has the same problem.
This means I can't find anywhere to join in the relevant discussion. Does anyone know of an active thread on these subjects?

Hello @murphydavid,
Thanks for this, and sorry for any disappointment. The MSE guide has been archived as it hadn't been updated in a long while. We often leave archived guides visible in case they're still useful for some, but we mark it as 'Archived' along the top.
There isn't a recent thread on this topic that I can see - your best bet would be to start a new post on the Credit card board.
Hope that's helpful, but let me know if you have any questions. Thanks.

I'm also glad you leave it visible as I found it very helpful and still relevant.
I will post a question where you suggest and hopefully generate some interest.1
