Can you claim compensation for lost packages covered by insurance?

We have sent a very large package we sold on Ebay with Parcel 2 Go who used Evri for the delivery. Evri stated 2 weeks ago that the parcel was "lost" and then simply stopped any update of the tracking and cannot be got hold of. Parcel 2 Go are constantly attempting contact but to no avail as yet.
The parcel was covered by insurance. Trouble is, we have had to reimburse the buyer of the product as this was not his fault and we await the covered insurance to reimburse our own sending fees once Parcel to Go gets an answer one way or another. This still leaves us with a £200 item somewhere no longer in our possession. Can we claim compensation for this given that Evri still has our item somewhere (you surely cannot simply say items are lost without people wanting to know why or where as it is theft which we PAID them for)! Can it be something for the small claims process?

If so, that doesn't seem like insurance to me at all - the bare minimum a company should do is refund the cost of a service that they didn't perform....0 -

Assuming Evri owns up and admits what happens, then our insurance should reimburse the value of the sale and all is OK. Trouble is, without any update to the tracking of the item since the 22nd, Evri are claiming to "attempt the delivery" so no insurance can be given in case this occurs. We are reading about people having their delivery fee refunded as their compensation due to the length of time taken but only this because their item is in some purgatory state (I am not sure what insurance they had on their items however). They have even had their "lost" item changed to "delivered" weeks later with no sign of the item actually arriving and therefore not receiving any compensation at all.
If they reimburse our delivery fee but not the cost of the item, I am wondering if this can be taken further. Our contract will be with Parcel to Go so I am not sure where we stand here because there is nobody anywhere at Evri who is responding at anything. All the time it states "lost" then full compensation for the item should be more certain...until it inexplicably "arrives" at it's destination 4 weeks later when it actually doesn't.0 -

So what is the compensation for?1 -
The insurance isn't being paid to many, some only getting back what they paid to send the item. Lots of excuses as to why as stated in my last post. Claim was raised last week. Evri were given 3 days to respond, they didn't so "claim has been raised". People are going round in loops for weeks at a time with similar issues.
If we get our delivery cost back, and we have refunded the buyer what they paid, we are at net zero but with the item missing we can no longer sell (presuming they try and wriggle out of the insurance payout).0 -

No point talking about people or others, focus on your own case. So what are the T&C's of the insurance you took out? A link to the insurance along with what the item you sent will help people to help you.

Also items do get lost with all major delivery companies. Don't start throwing around the 'theft' remark, it won't help your case at all.

At present, I am just trying to work out what my options COULD be if this reaches that point so I know what to state to the parcel company (I don't want to make idle threats). I might find they pay the compensation in a few days and all is well but I only have a suspicion presently that may not be the case. If it does end up with refusing compensation I will of course post the full details then.0
