I'd expect mass disconnection of load to cause almost no difficulty at all to the grid. Its reconnection on the other hand could be interesting. If I was feeling malicious, I'd disconnect a big enough chunk of load to cause the grid frequency to rise enough that power stations begin to trip off, and then connect it all back again to cause a blackout when stations couldn't be brought back on fast enough.Dolor said:
