£1222 last year £670 up till now this year. SP fixed for a year will be £330 starting 1st Sept or variable same date £180, looks like I'd be better with fixed for a year? Thanks for replying0

Possibly, but post up the unit rates and standing charges for the fixed rate deal they are offering. Some fixed rate deals offered are very high.liz503 said:£1222 last year £670 up till now this year. It could be worth it, bear in mind when you were offered the deal it may now have expired now and no longer be available.
I'm worried you keep quoting DD amounts - what are your actual unit usage figures? Do you supply regular meter reads? Are your bills accurate and are you in debt or credit?
The DD is not an all you can eat. If you use more you will pay more (DD will raise), use less and you'll pay less (DD may reduce).2 -
As per previous reply you need to look at your kWh usage to get an idea and then compare the kWh rates not the DD amountliz503 said:£1222 last year £670 up till now this year. @liz503, forget about the ££££ DD amount.
You need to give kWh amounts for both gas and electricity along with the new and old unit rates and standing charges and one of the board members will use their magic spreadsheets to help you.
Also, is your current DD actually covering your usage, so is your account in debit or credit ?3 -
Can supply this information on Monday as all info on my computer in work thanks Liz0

Gas is a little below average but look closely at your high electric - go through your property room by room and look at those big energy items - the heaters, (electric) showers, tumble dryers. You should be able to cut 1000 kWh off that - and that's £300liz503 said:

@The_Fat_Controller thank youNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Hi, I know I've posted before about this but opened my scottish power account and before I've even decided what I'm doing from 1st Sept (coming of 2 Yr fix) it's went up again. In last cpl weeks (1 yr flexi price tariff on offer)it's went from £330,£390 and today's it's sitting at £470 I actually nearly fell of my chair in work. I and everyone else in the same position don't know how I'm.suppose to pay for this. For the year £5642.170

Yes, the price of fixed tariffs are increasing at an alarming rate.
Remember that the direct debit total is only an estimate, you need to take your actual usage in kwh and the unit rates on the tariff to work out what you will actually oay over the year.1
