Affinity Water - County Court Business Centre - Water Bill - HELP !

Hello folks,
Almost all our home bills go out via a direct debit, its simply to avoid missing any bills.
But ironically we recevied a ''Claim Form'' from ''County Court Business Centre''.
I didnt know if this was a genuine letter but having searched online, it appears they are genuine, so this is not a hoax.
I am angry and frustrated this has happened - we set up a direct debit a few years ago and thats for all our bills, so Im not sure what has happened but this could be a mistake ?
Before I call Affinity Water...is there any thing I should be prepared for or ask when I call them ?
I'm not good at these things so want to be a little educated if that is possible ?
I have some notes from a old bill..it is a few years old but I have clearly written on it the date I called them and the payment plan..agreed ..it is 3x sets of payment per year to be paid via direct debit.
The 'Claim Form' states I owe Affinity Water thousands of pounds ??
I would never be able to afford this anyway but I dont know what to do.
What shall I do ?

Are you actually paying anything each month? Is Affinity your location supplier? I had a similar from a debt company on behalf of a supplier at the other end of the country which had just picked my name as being same as their defaulting customer. As soon as I pointed it out they deleted the link.
I can't see the point in that if you've not actually spoken to the company yetEvan3020 said:Citizens advice bureau

Do you mean 1 direct debit to a company that then pays all your bills? If so maybe the money has not been passed on.
Do you have an online account to check, who do you pay the direct debit to?, is the money going out of your account?,
Did the letter have your account number on it?1 -
Hello guys,SOO the direct debit was setup directly with the water supplier many years ago.I had a seperate account that just dealt with all my bills (I've found it easier to manage this way) and had a DD set up from this ''Bill'' account - this is where the billing amount should have been taken out from, this what was agreed with the water supplier..and what I've written down on the bill at the time (I made notes from the telephone call onto the bill...just a habit now).0
