Hi, I just took that as well. Do you know the new rates? Cant find them anywhere and my account hasn't updated yetlisyloo said:I've just taken this today with code 150EXCLUSIVE (note the code box comes up quite early in the process).
Bad news out today (see sky news etc.)
Only my opinion but I would bit their arm off before it gets withdrawn.
You can always exit if something unexpected happens.:rolleyes:0 -
The new rates are different depending on the region you are in.
Did you seriously take a fixed tariff without knowing what your rates will be?1 -
mine was 42.34p (49% increase) South west unit rate for electricity.jonbg said:

The forecast was around 55% for elec (65% from the cornwall forecasters) and that's october only.
I had to do some digging as it's always quoted for dual fuel - in general gas is higher than the quoted rate and electricity lower.
standing charge was around 51p but same as standard variable.
I reckon it's a no brainer especially with the 150EXCLUSIVE deal.
If war ends tomorrow and things change you have the option to just get out.
I definitely calculated it - for elec only which is not that easy before taking it but can be done0 -
All EDF customers have to look very carefully at what fixes are available in My Account.
The offers vary depending whether you are currently on the SV tariff, have a fix coming to an end or like myself having recently taken a fix.
It is further complicated by the small regional variations.
As if wasn't already complicated enough !0 -

new unit rate/ old unit rate
to get the increase
but agree you have to look at what is on offer0 -
I have today bitten the bullet and taken this fix. It's been on offer for a few weeks, but after last night's news, I decided that the balance of certainty v possible savings had tipped towards certainty.
I have not been offered the 150EXCLUSIVE code, but have messaged them to ask if they can apply it. Worth the time it took to send a message; the worst they can do is say no...
What has puzzled me recently is the choice of tariffs on offer. Consistently over the past few weeks I have been offered three 2 year fixes. One at £201 and two at £250. No difference other than the unit rates. Why anyone would choose the higher one beats me.

I saw the rates but didn't copy them down. I saw the tariff (EDF Energy: Fix Total Service Jul24v6 two-year fix) on this website (which told me it was 55% above the SVT I was on) plus the £150 which is on top of that.pochase said:The new rates are different depending on the region you are in.

I didn't check Martins calculations I admit.
Seriously:rolleyes:0 -
I just "spoke" to someone at EDF in the chat function via my online account.
He said that the offers are usually withdrawn on the 28th of each month and that there would be a "Fix Total Service Aug24" tariff appearing shortly.
He also said that their might be a "Fix Total Service Jul24v8" available to some people today but that it too will be withdrawn before the end of today.
Hope this is of use to some EDF customers on here. Good luck.1 -
Thanks for that but I'm in the North West and on dual fuel, I agree, if the forecasts are anywhere near right its the thing to do. If!! lollisyloo said:

I couldn't see it but it worked when i used the link in an email that EDF had sent recentlyStaffordian11 said:I have today bitten the bullet and taken this fix.
