Sorry, I meant 15kWh/day is good if you compare it with what the previous figures were in 2021. I'm sure it is still too much electricity, and it has been great having so many helpful people give me tips to reduce this.Robin9 said:Thanks - plenty to digest but if you think 15kWh/day is good you are in a different world to me - should be under 10 kWh in a gas heated house
What were you up to in March ?
Keep reading those meters - try switching off that fridge / freezer for a few hours
and the Gas ???????????/0 -
I used the Tapo energy monitoring plug on the chest freezer and it came up using 0.5kWh/dayRobin9 said:Thanks - plenty to digest but if you think 15kWh/day is good you are in a different world to me - should be under 10 kWh in a gas heated house

July to july 9018, 24.7 per day, Are the reading always taken the same date or week of the month?
BG Sep-Sep 1050 units.
With the Aga gone, i think i can see at least 30k kwh savings this year.0 -
No, the readings we really random in both date and time. I then just tried to average out the amounts the best I could. Yes, we seem to be averaging around 9000kWh a year.markin said:July to july 9018, 24.7 per day, Are the reading always taken the same date or week of the month?0 -

What have you removed to reduce it to 'only' 15kwh?0 -
Again, I do realise 15kwh is a lot a day and am still looking at ways to reduce.markin said:

So far I have turned off timed night lights in the garden/drive, turned off the 40litre water tank, turned off outside security lights, changed all setting of washing machine/dishwasher to eco setting, using drying rack rather than using tumble dryer, changed all light bulbs to LED, kept lights off unless necessary, and turned off all appliances overnight.
For Gas I have turned off the CH from the boilers rather than just at radiators.
When I took the Aga out I put in underfloor heating in kitchen & living room. I am hoping to heat our living areas this way this winter and a wood burner rather than radiators.0 -
The meter that included the Aga last year was 32k kwh last year, and this included 6 radiators and hot water for shower. But yes, if we can save around 20k kwh that would be a great. It is 11,000 kwh less already this year.markin said:July to july 9018, 24.7 per day, Are the reading always taken the same date or week of the month?

Wet underfloor heating, linked to your central heating system? Or electric underfloor heating?Jonesy_40 said:When I took the Aga out I put in underfloor heating in kitchen & living room. I am hoping to heat our living areas this way this winter and a wood burner rather than radiators.

Once you don't need the fans that could be 3kwh less, 70w x 3 x 15hrs a day0 -
