Facebook Purchase Lego

I recently bought some second-hand boxes of Lego from Facebook that was quite expensive because it contains some large collector sets. I took it home put it the garage for a week then got it out to clean it. At this point I realise that a lot of the pieces were glued together which makes it totally worthless. I contacted the sellers stating that it wasn't worth anything like the amount as a lot was glued together. She admitted she knew some of it was glued, so I asked to return it, which she refused. My question is do I have a case for the small claims court? It's not really the money but the point that she knew it was glued and didn't tell me.

I would work out what it is worth in it's glued state and ask for a partial refund, or its probably easier to return it for a full refund. Be direct.
If they don't respond then a letter before action giving them 14 days to collect and refund in full.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
was this a private sale?0

If the money isn't an issue just sell it on at a reasonable price for some glued Lego and leave appropriate feedback for the original seller.0

Yes a private sale0

Second hand Lego is still really expensive - some retired second hand sets can even be more expensive than the original purchase price.
As a big Lego collector myself, glued Lego is worthless. That's why I only buy second hand Lego off EBay as at least there is some protection.I would take them to small claims court if they refused a full refund. Send them a letter before action as above giving them 14 days. You can even create a draft claim on Money Claim Online that you can give them as proof that you're serious! We do that for work, and it creates much more reaction than just a letter.0 -
Thanks for the advice,, I will do that. Big Lego collector also, I did the usual look in the boxes to check it wasn't all non Lego. Never dreamed to check for glued and to be honest you couldn't tell. I started washing smaller sections and still didn't notice until I tried to separate it. Who glues Lego!!0

If you have bought this face to face, and had a chance to examine it, and they never said it wasn't glued or was in mint condition, I am not sure you would win a court case.1

You won't win your case - it was a private sale and you collected it and had a chance to ask any questions and examine it.2
