Storage heaters payback time

Alright. I’ve been advised then a 2.7kw (TSRE 125) will suffice for the living room and I guess I’ll get a 1.8kw or 2.2kw for the landing.0

I would see if you can live with just doing the living room heater and only do the hall if you get cold.I’m on a the following fixed 1 yr tariff:
Day : 43.25KwNight : 26.13kwStanding : 43.48
Based on that above, will the payback time be quicker? Is it worth investing in another storage heater if I’m only planning to live in the property for no more than 4-5 years?
I would certainly hope spending £1k on a lick of paint and decorating would add value when selling.
Check the EPC for heat demand and get one that fits the storage capacity. I would think that the windows and insulation has been upgraded since the original install, Flat Age?

Well this is the current EPC details (it’s a C with a potential of a high C) - this is when I did have those old storage heaters I removed…

Hi,so, no storage heater just now.Why do you want one on the landing? You could put the 3.3 in living room, where you want to be cosy, smaller one in hallway, heat rises so no need for a landing one.The wall mounted panel heaters, with plugs fitted, could be used in bedrooms, and switched on half an hour before going to bed or if they have timer function then set for half hour before bed/getting up.1

Sorry I should clarify - it’s a 2 bed first floor maisonette. Upon the entrance to the property are stairs immediately leading to the first floor landing where the bedrooms, living room etc are. There used to be a storage heater in the landing and one in the living room.So are you suggesting 3.3 in the living room and 1.8kw in the landing? To complicate things, I should point out there is still an older storage heater right inside the entrance of the property next to the stairs!0

Hi,ok, getting the picture. So, is storage heater right inside the entrance of the property next to the stairs still functionable? If so, then forget about the landing one and use it, heat rises, you can add landing one later if needed.

Maybe you should also consider that many people will be running away when you try to sell a flat with panel heaters instead of storage heaters.
This part of the break even is not easy to put a number on, but still significant.1
