Hi @elsiepac
Please put me down for £450+£72 = £522 for the month
I've started the month with a very unnecessary trip to Co-op for bacon sandwich & lucozade supplies.
A long work day yesterday with lots of driving and I really needed the carbs, sugar and fat combo today

£170 Grocery £30 bulk for month August - start 1st
I have not been around for a few months and my spending has definitely increased in every category. This does not include alcohol or rare meals out. I dont really do takeaways
The bulk fund was very useful last time I tried it, suggested by one of you Grocery regulars! It stops me busting the budget so I will do that for mung beans, rice etc rather than extra coffee or reduced meat that I inevitably will eat within a month.
I still have my second fridge/freezer (it was free from a neighbour) but its currently switched off and empty due to me emptying it before I went away and the electricity costs at present.
I do live in Central London but use Lidl/aldi and other local supermarkets. Still £200 sounds like a big budget for one person .. but lets start there - the
I eat a lot of meat, I am very active and I am GF so that costs more and DF as well though dairy is a sensitivity rather than my Gluten allergy.
I used to use TGTG and Olio a lot but being GF I end up giving a lot away
I still have a half full fridge and half small freezer. I won a 6 in 1 pressure cooker a few months ago and it has changed my cooking. I love the speed the taste and the cheaper energy costs. So I am having fun making up recipes.
I am still in my July food budget so I will start tracking on this once Aug 1st hitsDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hi
Please can I go down for £300 for August?
Away for just over a week in August, and trying to use up from cupboards and freezer before children go back to school, so hoping to come in well under budget.
Really need to make more use of my second fridge freezer so it's more efficient.
Thanks for running the thread, very much appreciated!

Well nice post this morning dropped on the mat my voucher from tescos for £4.00 so that will increase my £60.00 august budget to £64.00."Every Little Helps " and I shall spend it very carefully .
My 'bookcase storage' is doing well and filling up nicely, I use the top of the bookcase for laundry liquid, white vinegar ,washing crystals and loo rolls.
I use Aldi's non-bio liquid which is fine for me and I only use half the amount and top it off with boots washing soda crystals and white vinegar instead of conditioner, works perfectly and saves a few bob into the bargain
So only thing on my shopping list at the moment is tomatoes and a cucumber which I will probably get on Monday I have squirelled away my left over July budget of £14.63 into my separate bank account, and I'm quite happy with that.
If its not in my purse it won't be spent
New month ahead so even more eagle eys on the prices and my shopping list

August month budget £64.00

87/150£ spend already, having a cat is expensive! So far it's been all spent on him, at least it should last for two months at least. I'm feeling pretty poorly at the moment, still recovering from my septum surgery, I went back to work too soon and now I'm feeling exhausted. At least it's almost weekend!
My budget started on the 25th and will run till next 25th, when paychecks come. My employer gave us additional 250 cost of living bonus this month, and as I was planning to buy a new fridge I decided to use that excess and splurged on a Samsung. A class in the new standard, I wonder how much difference I will see in my electricity bill - I have a fridge that came with a flat and have no idea how old or how efficient it is, the new one must be better though.
As for shopping for me, I probably will top up some veggies tomorrow on the market, but I still have lots of meat in the freezer, combination of lidl offers, ys and some olio. It works great in my area, lots of food going round. I will probably defrost a chicken and go off it for a week of meals. Trying to shed some weight at the moment, which is also pretty money saving:D8
