We finished August at
£313.25/£250
£63.25 over
Not a good month. Hoping September will go better.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy3 -
I'm over budget by £16.20. It's added to the running total, so hope to recoup some of it next month.Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget4

After a big stock-up at some specialist shops near me for things like tahini, sesame seeds and so on I'm declaring at £115.09/£124 for the main challenge and £19.53/£25 for the Baking Budget. I've been massively helped by having been unwell for a lot of the month which meant I had to live off my store cupboard and freezer which was monotonous but it kept me away from ordering online.
See you all over in September where I shall have to confess to having blown the baking budget earlier today so clearly I'm feeling better.5 -
I'm done for August now, and this week's milk bill has snuck into September as both of us received our occupational pension money before the weekend. I won't be shopping soon though as we had a fridge freezer problem and everything is currently in the toolshed smaller fridge that we use for bottles normally. £1976.07 spent so far this year. An additional £21.53 already for September (eggs and milk) but we should manage for two weeks if the food does not rot in the poorer spec fridge.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

There was another small spend of £6.62 across a few shops on Friday. Declaring at £156.03/200 which I’m quite pleased with. Back to real life in September, less spending on snacks etc.
Used the money leftover from the challenge to order tesc0 which is coming tonight, including a few things for the store box and just general restocking of chopped tomatoes, beans, rice etc and then a few things for next weeks packed lunches and dinners.6 -
My month finished on the 12th, and sadly I was also over by about £30.
Not sure if it was to do with having DD here more, a few bulk buys or a combo of everything.

Suffolk_lass they are 39p in Tescos still at the moment .I too enjoy a couple of ginger nut biscuits with a cuppa and have done for years. In fact its my go-to biscuit first thing in the morning with my early morning cup of tea when I get up.
Now and again I treat myself to a tin of the very upmarket Cartwright and Butler stem ginger biscuits but it really is maybe when I am on holiday or at Christmas as my family know how much I like them, but they are rather expensive to say the leastAlthough Tesco do ,at least in the bigger shops sell a stem ginger cookie and they are around £1.00 a packet, but again they are a teat and not an every day item
I think we all need to treat ourselve a little now and again don't we as life can be hard enough
