I am having trouble getting an answer from Easyjet regarding a refund or voucher due to serious illness cancellation. Our flights are booked for 21 August 2022 and my husband, who has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer, will be in hospital on 18 August 2022 having an operation to destroy the cancer cells. He has been told that he will then have a 2+ week recuperation period, with a catheter in place for half of it. Easyjet confirmed receipt of our request, together with supporting medical documentation and confirmed that they would reply with a decision within 7 days. However, we have heard nothing and were due to fly out in 10 days' time. There doesn't appear to be a special phone line for cancellation refunds/vouchers, so I've had to use the contact form again and just hope to get a reply before our proposed travel date of 21 August 2022. We tried to move the flights forward, but the flights to Corsica only go up until next month, so we can't go down that route.
@MAD_JACK Sorry to hear of your circumstances , this would usually be covered by your travel insurance. Have you checked your policy to see if you can claim ?

Thank you for your reply Onashoestring. We were holding off renewing our Staysure policy until nearer the time of our holiday and then my husbamd got an out of the blue diagnosis of prostate cancer and it's taken several months to see various consultants in order to decide on which course of treatment to choose. Therefore, the policy was never renewed.
