Get into the habit of reading those meters every month - dont wait to be asked.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Can anyone understand how we have gone from £1445 in debt to been in credit suddenly? Can they make you pay a debt if they have now told you you are in credit? Also are they going to try and take payment on the 4th august because we don’t have that kind of money. Things have gotten like this because my partner suffers from severe depression and he lets things slide but I’m trying to get on top of things but this time the blame lies with British Gas they never got in touch. He’s on benefits so he doesn’t have the money.0

I can understand the £1224 which would have been another estimate and the £1449 which would have been actual.
Have you got access to the BG online account ? If not set u=yourself up and you will be able to see the various bills/ statements.
What does the very last one say ?
I can sympathise with your partners illness - my with will always put off things to tomorrow.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
You are most likely in credit because they credited all usage, and you only see your payments at the moment. They will .send a new bill soon, and yes they can do that.
They might decide to hand over to debt collection, might be a good idea to let the know that you are unable to pay.
Most likely scenario is that they are going to put you onto prepaid.
Part of the debt they will be able to collect from the £400 you will get credited against the electricity account from October. Anybody got an idea what will happen with the credit if there account is in debt?

Yes we have a British Gas account online this is where we have downloaded the bills from or were able to download the bills from. They are going to send a paper copy of the bill. Is this something to do with moving to British Gas Evolve?0

If you can find one reading that says ACTUAL: then reads your meter and calculate the present reading but account for any increases due to the rates increasing in April or October.Someone please tell me what money is0

Bill has arrived and it says we are in credit and it clearly says we don’t need to pay anything so do we now believe that we doting owe British Has anything?

Hi,No, check the figures. Is bill based on estimated or actual readings?Do readings correspond with your own records?Does amount paid agree with your payments?Don't sit back and be happy just because it seems ok, you might get a shock with next bill.Keep your own wee spreadsheet.0

It is based on reading given 2 weeks ago and says actual reading on it. Can anyone explain how it’s gone from £1440 in debt to been in credit?0
