Anyone know how to fix this without resetting it? It keeps happening. Laptop is less than 12 months old should I return it?

Google "Asus Zenbook power button flashing". It gives lots of hits.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It may have gone to sleep (but pressing the button should unlock it) have you tried clicking the mouse or pressing keys on the keyboard?

Yes it does and I have already done that. Haven't found them much help to be honest.

Yes obviously this was tried. Don't worry I'm not a complete dimwit.

I have not used one of those, but it does sound like a long button press for 30 seconds gets it going, but I get the impression that the problem recurs.

Returning it after a year is tricky.

It's less than 12 months old. Think it was bought in September last year.

Never doubted you dear boy , but it could be in your power settings eg it may allow windows to turn off USB that is a often a case of this happening.e.g. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-11-wont-wake-up-from-sleep/b9cb52ce-317e-449c-8781-116bdf517678
