Someone on here needs to change the details for RWG as they now offer 100min & 100 texts plus 750Mb data

  • So Alanjones60, can I ask you why you have never wanted Voicemail on any of your phones?  i see Asda mobile charge 4p per min to access your voicemail so maybe that is the reason but then if someone leaves you a message you will never know what they wanted.  Just a bit mystified as to why you wouldn't want it enabled.

Another question if I may.  If I buy a phone with a dual sim slot, how do I tell the phone which sim to use?  I'm not new to mobile/smart phones but technology is moving on so fast I am running to keep up.

You can either set a default SIM, or be prompted each time you make a call or send an SMS.
Even with a default set, you can choose when you make a call/SMS.

You can usually also set a default by contact.

In most dual SIM phones, both numbers/SIM can receive calls and SMS, but not a second call, while there is an active call.
  • K_man, thanks for that info.  It would be good to use my ASDA sim and old phone number for incoming hospital messages etc, but use the RWG sim for the free calls out.  I may need a bit more input from you when I get the new phone and RWG sim.  Every day is a school day.  Thanks

The reason was when i first had a mobile it was something like 20p to get each one.
So i thought turn it off,if its important they will ring back. Even though its free to retrieve them on my rwg sim,id been without it for so long,i just didnt want to bother with it.
Also my main number is the three data reward sim, that has never had voicemail on it

    Thx for the suggestions.

Any ideas on a cheap phone.  I see you can get a sim free nokia for about 15-18 pounds.  A good bet?

    cheers

FYI, I recently bought an iPhone from Sky mobile and it came with a free SIM with unlimited calls & SMS and 100 MB data.
I don't know what their range of phones is; I bought it at a Sky stall in a shopping centre.
I think the idea is that you activate the SIM and then select one of their plans, but I bought the phone to use with my existing EE plan and so will keep the free sim as-is as a spare.

    They offer two different one-off payment deals. 50mins, 50sms & 250MB for £5 and 100mins, 100sms & 750MB for £15.
