Refund of restaurant deposit - taking longer and I need refund to book elsewhere

Well I take back the part about it being easy to find out, I can't see anything about it. But if you only gave your card details to dishcult, it is perfectly possible that the restaurant itself never received that payment and just told dishcult they can refund you and I doubt there is much they could do to accelerate it.
In such a case they might ultimately be responsible for refunding you themselves should dishcult fail to do so, but that certainly wouldn't be a quick or easy process either.

Interesting that the Dish Cult T&Cs (which refer to resDiary) say that the laws of Scotland apply. (Point 22)

But there's nothing about refunds, nor even who you are contracting with when making a reservation. There's also no company number listed (and I can't see them on Companies House), and the only means of contacting them is via a web form.Jenni x0 -

You can get a full refund within 30 days. This is a nice new addition to our statutory rights. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 changed our right to reject something faulty, and be entitled to a full refund in most cases, from a reasonable time to a fixed period (in most cases) of 30 days.
