Anybody could say the address was wrong and steal somebody else’s meal.
  • I spoke with trading standards who told me to put a dispute on the payment as I had informed the driver of the glitch
Out of interest, how did you manage to get through to TS?

Contacting the driver is pointless, you should have contacted the restaurant or Uber Eats the second you got the order confirmation, then it could have been corrected before despatch.

You could keep trying to ask Uber Eats for a refund, but they may say its user error

It's not really a glitch - you used ubereats a year or so ago and input and address then, when you used it again it remembered the address and used that.

If you explain to ubereats you forgot to update the address they may be more understanding that if you say their app had a glitch - which I don't think it did.

I'm sorry your treat didn't work out for you - hopefully they will do something even if it's a voucher off a future order.

So I ve been using ubereats and normally sends to my home as it's the preference I ve put the Payment on the PayPal  Resolution centre as I am Neurodivese the app should accommodate for that saying there is no opinion on the app to correct the address to the Restaurant only to  the Driver

I think you should give this one up and don't let it worry you.  You made an understandable error, but the app doesn't allow a rapid-enough means to correct that, which is understandable given that speed is one of the most important parts of the service.

As a fellow sufferer of neurodiversity, I still can’t see how this is their fault.
You sent them to the wrong address, I’ve used the app loads and don’t think it’s a glitch - just an old address was accidentally selected.
I think you’ll have to let this one go and be more careful next time.

How did you get in touch with the driver?
I ask because I use Just Eat and they never give me details of the driver. The only time I speak to the driver is when they call me asking me for exact directions to my place.
Does Uber Eats give you the driver's details?
  • Unfortunately it was your mistake, not a problem with the app.

A dispute under these circumstances may result in you losing your access to the account if they decide it is unwarranted.

Be careful how hard you push it.

Who lives at the other address?  Is it a place you have left behind completely, or is it the residence of a relative or friend or similar?
