Just a court word: the paperwork sitting in a Judge's inbox!
Thanks coupon. Second day in the row I've phoned Southampton courts and not had an answer

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading through all of this. I'm currently at the stage of responding to an LBC, and this has inspired me. well done on your dogged determination, and congrats on beating these scumbags!
Good luck with your case. If you've read 69 pages of my drivel and not lost the will to live, you'll definitely be OK.

I've actually found it really helpful, especially with all your well typed out WS's, will most probs use parts for myself!
I did find it highly amusing that they took potshots at this forum though. shows that its getting under their skin.

    Glad it helped  :)

Oh I was ready to address that MSE remark to! if they mentioned in front of the judge I used a template from MSE for my defence, I was ready to show the judge the BWL defence template they used against me that they just recycle, one at the same location (less some key photos tactically removed by them).

Reason I was asking is I have a windfall of £50k - I was thinking pay it into a pension, then next year when I'm not working take 25% tax free and the rest as an annuity for a fixed period of time
Wrong forum matey!  Pay it to me if you want! 😄
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I think look at the questions for all respondents in the Call For Evidence.

You don't have to answer every Q but there is one about consumer behaviour and deterrents, which is what I was getting at.

You can show evidence of how the court process ruined your life and finances and how this (the threat of court, as long as the final letters are sent to the right address) is deterrent enough.

Had you been contacted in a timely fashion to the right address and for a (lower than 3 figures) PCN that cannot be inflated by unjustified fees, which is an extortionate punishment for not paying something you knew nothing about, you would in future, pay a PCN if you lost at appeal and/or decided it was
    fairly-issued.

This is because the threat of court and (worse) the risk of a CCJ is more than enough deterrent and is not something that can happen in Local Authority penalty regimes.

So, you have discovered that these private ones are worse in terms of impact on your life.  Your evidence of how a CCJ ruined you, shows why people should be deterred by that alone as long as the CCJ possibility is clearly and fairly stated in all Letters Before Claim and sent to the right address with no inflated fees added, pre-court.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Morning All, I know everyone is busy helping others and mines essentially done.

I've heard nothing back from the courts, should I let this go now? or just be more patient?

It won't hurt to remind whoever you wrote to that you are still awaiting an answer.  If you don't they may consider that you are are prepared to let this go now.
  • Thank you @Le_Kirk - I've emailed the courts on the back of my original email to them requesting a cost application
