    Do not pay.

Make sure your mother does not respond to mail addressed to you from the PPC, other than to let you know of its existence.

The keeper's plan should be: -

    Complain to the landowner.

Complain to their MSP. Include a complaint about Scotland's plans to implement a law from England and Wales when keeper liability becomes live in the near future. That will mean a person who was not in the vehicle at the time of the alleged parking event can be held liable, even if they were in hospital on a ventilator, or a North Sea Oil Rig, or on active duty overseas with HM's Armed forces, or on a gap year in Australia. So much for Scotland's Dear Leader wanting independence from the rest of the UK.

Instruct the PPC to Erase the keeper's data and replace it with another Scottish address for service.

Instruct the PPC to instruct all their agents of the above.

Ignore everything for five years at which point the alleged debt will cease to exist under Scottish Law.
If a court miraculously arrives, come back to this thread. Note that claims can be started in Scotland for amounts under £300, but the claimant can't recover costs when the claimed amount is under £300.

I've been forwarded a final demand from BW Legal for £170. They say that they will escalate this to the courts at the end of this month.

I'm considering paying them just to get them off my back. But I think 170 is far too much. Should I contact them and try and haggle them down?

    Any advice appreciated.
It's just hot air! BW Legal don't file claims in Scotland!  NO PAYING.

Paying or contacting them with some sort of offer is like sending money to a scam phishing emailer.

I contacted NCP to update my servicing address but they said that they only use data provided by the DVLA. What should I do now?

Nothing! Just ignore. They are making baseless threats of court on the off-chance you don't know your rights in an attempt to extort through fear. They ate powerless.  Disengage with them and ignore.

Can we see a copy of their reply please?

"Thank you for your email received on XX/XX/2022.

I am sorry we were not able to respond in a timely manner.

We are currently experiencing a high volume of emails sent to our customer services department and our response time is longer than we would like.

In regards to your request, kindly get in touch with DVLA for them to update your details.

As our relevant department are only sending details that are given by DVLA.

Thank you and I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused you.

    Kind Regards,"

Did you send your notification of new address to the DPO of NCP, or to a general NCP email address?

Complain to the ICO that NCP are refusing to rectify your personal data. Copy the DPO of NCP in your complaint.
Add this in to your complaint to the landowner and your MSP.

This assumes that you specifically instructed NCP to erase your personal data and replace it with your new address for service, as opposed to using other wording.

I sent it to the DPO, who then forwarded it to a general email address.
