Moved house, letters going to old address (Scotland)

I recently moved house and the new tenant forwarded on my post. I have received two letters - one each from Trace Debt Recovery and BWLegal. I believe they refer to two separate claims. They are both demanding payment of £170 each.

I've been ignoring all correspondence from NCP, but I don't want any more of these letters going to my old address in case I miss something that I need to respond to - like a Letter of Claim. Should I contact these debt collectors and tell them that I don't live at the address and ask them to stop contacting me?

Both notices relate to parking in Scotland, so I believe the advice is to ignore them and never admit who was driving. Is this still correct?

Are both your addresses in Scotland?

Can you give a Scottish address they can reach you at? It will shut them up.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Send a rectification notice to the DPO of the PPC instructing them to erase your data and replace it with your current address for service. Instruct them to tell their agents to do the same, and copy in the debt collectors.
Make sure you use the word I have highlighted.

My new address is in England, but could give them my mother's address in Scotland as a forwarding address.

So would that be National Car Parks? I couldn't find what PPC means on the forums.

Acronyms and abbreviations common to the parking forum are explained in the fifth post of the sticky Announcement for NEWBIES.

If the keeper lived in Scotland and the vehicle was registered at a Scottish address at the time of the alleged event, the keeper cannot be held liable, even if they later move to a different nation within the UK where keeper liability applies.

Having said that, you only need to provide a serviceable address, which is defined as an address where you can readily be contacted. It does not have to be your home address.

Note that this will change in the future, possibly next year, because the Scottish First Minister has decided to copy a law from England and Wales, which personally I think is hypocritical when she keeps banging on about wanting independence for Scotland.

Okay, thank you. I've sent an email to the DPO at NCP requesting that they erase my old address and change my servicing address to another one in Scotland. I also asked them to inform me of their agents.

You require them to "inform all and any of their agents of your new address for service" not to inform you of their agents.

I've been forwarded a final demand from BW Legal for £170. They say that they will escalate this to the courts at the end of this month.

I'm considering paying them just to get them off my back. But I think 170 is far too much. Should I contact them and try and haggle them down?

    Any advice appreciated.
