do you want another 17"
if you can drop to 15"-16" a lot more choice.
if happy to supply your own OS this looks a decent deal

currys have a lower spec same price.
once you have an idea of what you need to spend to get what you need and what you could spend you can shop around for the value options.1 -
Lenova is not my favoured brand. I am looking at 15 or 16 inch as 17 inch are coming in too expensive. Currently I am looking at Acer and possibly Asus if I don't go for another Dell. My price range is circa £500 and I definitely won't want to install the operating system.0

Dell Inspiron 16 will take you over £500 unless there are more codes coming
Dell Inspiron 15 there are quite a few options i the £450-£500 with 9% discount code.
eg 11gen I5

Ryzen 5 5500U is compatible or slightly better than i5-1135G7
But Ryzen usually may be cheaper. For example, Acer above with i5 is £480.
Personally would go for Asus with OLED screen.1 -
You can speed up your existing laptop by fitting an SSD
This made more difference to my I5 laptop than any other upgrade
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -

Thanks for your suggestions. I will peruse them over lunch. The Dell is still within my price range. The Dell agent I was in correspondence seems to have disappeared and her colleague has failed to reply too.
I am not willing to spend money adding to my existing laptop. I think the whole system needs cleaned up. The keys are sluggish. It will do as a reserve or for my young granddaughter to use when she visits.0 -
I have just received my Costco deals and I do like the look of the Acer and it appears to be a good price.0

You could probably spend circa £50 on a new SSD that would remove all 'sluggishness' and be very MSE ... but if you are unwilling, then another £400 it is0 -
