I didn’t know there was such a thing as laundry sanitizer. What a strange world we live in.

I wonder how many products fall into that category?
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.

Would doing a low temp pre wash with regular detergent followed by low temp wash cycle using the sanitiser in the detergent drawer work?
I use it occasionally for dog stuff and don't like the idea of it leaving traces in the fabric so do it like that. On the theory that it will have done it's job then got washed and rinsed out. I buy the cheaper version from Aldi. Saves doing a 60c wash and ruining stuff

I can't see why it wouldn't work in the same wash with the detergent.  Not the leaving traces aspects, obviously, but I can't see how the presence of detergent would protect bacteria from it...

Yes you are right. Thinking about it, if the detergent was going to have a detrimental effect on the sanitiser, it wouldn't matter if they were in together or following each other would it. I don't know why I didn't think about that in the first place 😄

Just wild guesses but maybe the mixture might do something nasty like releasing chlorine. We are told not to mix disinfectants. Or maybe it de-colourises clothes when used in hot water?

That's a good point. Though you would like to think that there would be a warning on the bottle... Not that I've actually read the label properly. 😮
