Has anyone here used Hampshire Trust Bank?
Any opinions on service and / or how they pass on any future rate increases?
They are 2nd on the notice accounts best buy table, and due to wanting to spread money from a house sale around I can't just invest in Investec.0 -
HTB are a bit old fashioned but nonetheless easy to deal with and perfectly ok. CS is very responsive and competent.
I don't follow their rate tables but I know they do pop up as top payers now and then, usually for ISAs and fixed term / fixed rate accounts. No idea what they are like with notice accounts, sorry.2 -
I asked HTB about their policy if / when they increase their rate of interest. Response below, which was fine from my perspective.
When our rates increase this does not automatically apply to your current account you hold with us however, at your request, you can transfer over to the higher account without giving the notice.1 -

Zopa accounts update (Couldn't see this posted in the last few pages)We're getting in touch to let you know that rates for our Smart Saver are changing. Here's what that means for you:
The new rate for your Access pots will be: 3.46% AER* variable (3.40% gross**). This was applied to your account on 19/05/23. The old rate was: 3.34% AER* variable (3.29% gross**).
The new rate for your 7 Day Boosted pots will be: 3.50% AER* variable (3.44% gross**). This was applied to your account on 19/05/23. The old rate was: 3.38% AER* variable (3.32% gross**).
The new rate for your 31 Day Boosted pots will be: 3.60% AER* variable (3.54% gross**). This was applied to your account on 19/05/23. The old rate was: 3.45% AER* variable (3.39% gross**).
The new rate for your 95 Day Boosted pots will be: 3.70% AER* variable (3.63% gross**). This was applied to your account on 19/05/23. The old rate was: 3.55% AER* variable (3.49% gross**).
You don't need to do anything. We'll automatically adjust the interest rates for your Smart Saver.1 -
Zopa are optimists. Why would I lock my money away for 95 days @3.7% if I can get 3.7% and more in easy/instant access accounts, or 4%+ in other 90 day notice accounts?
Can't wait for my existing boosters to mature so I can move my money out of Zopa.4 -

I've got one pot left in Zopa, soon to be zero. Oxbury 90 account is currently 4.01% AER.0
