Easyjet booking issues

Tried to book a flight on Easyjet website and got this message

So tried on their app and was shocked at the 2 options presented to me. I'll have a bag but it's twice as big as the under the seat size but I don't want to pay an extra 165 euros for it when I don't need the other inclusions of the Flexi ticket. It seems a racket, is this the norm for easyjet? It's grossly unfair there's no inbetween options so I've booked with Ryanair

What are you shocked about?
If you don’t want flex then choose standard and move on to the baggage option and seat options that present themselves after this stage.

You could have selected the Standard fare and added a large cabin bag in the booking options later on for around £15-£25 (depends on route)
The Flexi fare is expensive because as you say it bundles many features including free date and route changes which is what you’re paying for.0 -

There was no information to suggest that was possible, it's just presented as having to choose Standard or Flexi and no mention of other baggage options later if you choose standard. I've just gone through that on the app (as I'm still denied access to the Easyjet website) and the next page makes you purchase a seat (which I thought used to be able to be allocated free by Easyjet on check in if you weren't bothered about choosing a seat) and only after you've done that you can add cabin bags but that's not indicated anywhere previously in the process. Easyjet have lost my custom through it anyway.

I’d be surprised if any airline didn’t offer it in this manner.
At first you are offered the ticket you wish to buy.
Whether it’s a choice of saver, priority, priority plus, Light, Standard, Flexi, premium you chose the the ticket you want and after having done so you select any additions you wish to add such as seats, baggage etc etc.
In any event EasyJet’s loss is Ryanair’s gain.0 -

They initially show you their range of bundled fares, but you always have the option of selecting “Value” and then tailoring with extras you actually need if the bundled fares don’t suit. You’re probably better off on Ryanair anyway currently, much better chance of it actually operating!0 -

Apols I never saw that at the bottom, and if I had I think I might have thought it was to skip the car rental.
