I blanked out the serial number with a black rectangle on the image I posted. I think the OP did the same thing. What's underneath is a bar code and the meter reference given on my electricity bill.gefnew said:There is no serial number on the meter for any reference.so could be any thing.
If solar gen meter it would have seral number also.Reed0 -

Wow, can't believe you never saw those on domestic in 20 yearsSAC2334 said:
I ve seen thousands of those but they are always just solar panel Ampy meters. Personally I ve never seen that on a normal domestic electric meter .Reed_Richards said:This is a picture of the electricity meter in my house (taken a year ago today but it's still here).
The reading has a decimal point and six digits.
Nominally it is made by Ampy Metering (it does not say Landis & Gyr).
The date of installation is 29/7/8 as recorded on the label.
The bottom plate does not have a seal.
The reading alternates with rEd because I have solar panels.
None of my electricity suppliers, present or past, have shown any inclination to replace it.
No worries about the lack of a security seal on the lower cover screw. Meter fitters can t be bothered to fit them nowadays
.Seems to be the trend now to make meter bypassing even more easy when many new build properties omit them.
On my data collector I was obliged to note the missing security seals .They never replaced them .
Ebay sell these security tags and seals anyway so not difficult to sourceStrangely we have to report missing security seals rather than just record it0 -
I have seen these Ampy meters with the decimal point many times in domestic meters but only on solar panel meters and of course in the loony Secure Liberty meters with 8 digits .imeach said:

I ve been retired 5 years now so maybe Ampy have made more of these priamarily for solar panels and now they re finding their way into normal domestics. They don t make sense putting them on meters because it will end up with false readings by customers with poor close vision .When there is a leading zero some will submit false readings . Electric meters for domestics have always been billed with only 5 digits
There are new build estates with hundreds of properties with no security seals on any of the electric meters, so if I had to physically report it by phone then that is what I d be doing all day.
How long have you worked as a meter reader and who are you now working for ?

The wow was obviously my surprise that you had never seen them, the clue was in the word.SAC2334 said:

There are quite a few normal domestic meters with a decimal point and with more than five digits, not just the Secure Liberty.
Been in meter reading business 9 years or so, currently at Morrison Data Services
