I've been to see my grand-daughter and she's lovely. Very happy. Not done much because I scrubbed everything - washed my hair, 3 attempts to get all the dirt out from under my nails and then I didn't want to do anything that might get me dirty again - so no digging/ sweeping in the yard, no picking up rubbish. Presents were very well received (book and bibs for the baby, cheese assortment with oatcakes for mum).12

Thrifty, that's fab news!Abundant, I've set up the chaise longue for your poke-around-your-head session that f0xh0les suggested. Stay as long as you need to. Hugs.Grandmanerd, yay! to seeing your lovely dgd!Today I am grateful for dh taking dc to bouldering, for a fab free event this afternoon, for dc going to a friend's bday bash and loving it, for dh setting up the paddling pool and filling it (though he forgot about it - using the hose for the first time, usually we use buckets- so it is very full 😂), for completing my exam work ahead of schedule.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!10

Hugs @abundant1972. Just take things one day at a time. Each morning is like a fresh page to start anew, so if something happened the day before to halt your journey forwards, think what you can do today to change things so you don't repeat the same 'mistakes'. Your DFD may have been moved back, but if you made a grid & coloured in a square each time to paid £10 towards the debt, you can see am image to remind you how much you're getting closer to your target. I did this when paying back my savings for buying my car, & again when we had the driveway done. You can do this & we're all with you to help you along the way 😘
Fantastic to hear you've had lots of cuddles with your new granddaughter, @grandmanerd. A day of doing no jobs would have done you the power of good too! You can do them another day, with a spring in your step, thinking about holding the new member of your family.
Thank you all for your well wishes, it means a lot. Still buoyed up by it all today. Made me feel determined to get some jobs done outside (the sun came out in the afternoon). Went for a walk with DH, did some cleaning in preparation for an extra boy sleeping over tonight. Lots done outside, then listed some coins on eboy, just sold one now 😃 NSD#9
Off to bed shortly, have a huge hill to hike up tomorrow!
Grateful for you lot, determination, sunshineUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

Evening everyone.
- Spendy day today on my holibobs, Have £60 for the weekend and spent £35 today but every penny weighed up and some spends stopped and some went ahead. Today we went in a nearby town but tomorrow will be on the beach so should stay in budget.
- Not been on my phone much so no time wasted. My time has been well spent today with my favourites. Yesterdays leftovers used for sandwiches today.- Nothing stressy today but alcohol free days still 6/31
- Taking DS crabbing and catching 3 quickly (and putting them back) was fun today & made me smile (and squeal when we got the 2nd one as it nearly escaped)
- Budgets should hold up. I’ve declined a 50th birthday celebration for a close friend. She’s having a few and I’ve agreed & paid for one event ages ago but this one sounds fun but I can’t stretch the pennies as there’s a present to buy too.
- Nothing money saving really today when I think about I’ve bought nothing is regretted.
- I’d say every penny has been thought about today. The godsend was DS having his own money & budget & being aware of what he wants and what he wants to spend on.
NSD still 7/16, nothing decluttered today but will be ahead on items not week.Be careful tomorrow it’s going to be a hot one.Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £175/£26011 -
Sending you lots and lots of hugs, Abundant. Hope things get better very, very soon.
Nothing very exciting going on in my world. We had a good walk yesterday of four and a half miles and I spent the rest of the day just pottering around the house. I think I'll be doing a lot of pottering around inside for the next few days. I'm dreading these high temperatures and it's not even going to be as bad here as in some other parts of the country. Aldi had no sparkly water yesterday. I think people must be stocking up.
So I'm going to get dressed and get out before it starts to heat up.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11 -
It is a great few days to get large items washed and dried on the line! Duvets, throws, blankets, rugs. etc - prepping for winter!Yesterday was NSD (insert random number). Annoyingly I have lost a receipt for expenses. I need one for Friday, I had one for £1.10 that would have netted me £25, but it must have fallen out of my bag. Grrr! DH has receipts for Tue/Wed/Thur/Sat
All the days I do not need. Double Grrrrr!
Today will be cleaning the house - top 2 floors (the easy bit!) and cleaning the fridge in readiness for feeding 8 people 3 x a day for 8 days. The fridge is going to be rammed! The bathrooms will be sparkling.Tomorrow will be cleaning the living room and kitchen (the hands and knees, down and dirty bit) I really do not like cleaning, but I can do it for 48 hours.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Sending you hugs @abundant1972. It’s good you’re seeing a therapist. I sometimes find that absorbing myself in content (books, podcasts, videos) about improving something (getting rid of debt, managing money, building new habits, changing attitude) can help. This may be contrary to what a therapist would advise but it works for me. Like others have said, every day is a new day. Take them as they come - one at a time. Us turtles are here to support you. x

Welcome @abouttime_2Caravan day 1We’re back at the family caravan for another week of the summer holidays. We arrived late afternoon yesterday and headed straight to the supermarket to stock up for the week. Budget is set, meals are planned, and I’ll still be trying to keep eating healthier. I doubt I’ll lose weight here but I’ll be conscious to limit the damage.Grateful for being back at the caravan, for the better weather, and for this group. xNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸10

Big hugs @abundant1972
Well, I'm in Wells! I have overspent my weekend budget by £6 because I bought one round too many. I know it was one too many as I didn't drink it. What a waste! I have NAFLD so I have cut down on the booze but as I'm treating OH this weekend for his birthday. My body let me know this morning that I am very wise not to make this a habit. But I'm really pleased with how my t-shirts and dresses are fitting after just a short while of increasing my cardio and adjusting my lifestyle. My skin too, much better. My sleep, better. Overall, very much better. This morning... Post a little booze, I'm back to hivey. Ugh.
Glad we bought our water bottles and the picnic. Still have lots of cheese muffins. We also bought a cave aged cheddar, but I think our ice blocks have all melted now so hopefully it will survive the boot in the heat today.
I got the room as a Perkbox bargain. It's clean, tidy and functional but oh my life, it's the accessible room!loads of rails and very low sinks and mirrors.
We have had fun going round the caves and watching the circus. Nearly missed crazy golf, but we were the last ones in and I beat OH by 11 points, ha ha!
Then we went into Wells for a Thai meal and took many photos of the Hot Fuzz locations.
Today, we will go into Wells to see the cathedral and then we'll follow a trail into the Mendips, heading home around lunchtime.
Keep reading books!
