Chargeback 120 days.
Paypal is 180 👍
Any good dispute rep @ Santander would be able to pick out the points from the OP's story & give the advice on what to do. Just need to get passed the front line & to the team that deal with these issues.Life in the slow lane1 -

I’ve read right through this thread, shame the op didn’t return with any update. I am currently going through exactly the same scenario, bought from a site called Inov-8-uk.com, paid £86 for a pair of trainers, received a pair of cheap sunglasses. Have had a protracted email exchange with vendors, contacted my bank, FirstDirect who said that Mastercard require that I send the unwanted item back, as requested by the vendor, before they can consider a chargeback. I asked the vendor for an address, I then searched the net and found a site called Chinapostaltracking where someone had asked a question about the exact same address as when they did a Google search it showed up as a park. The response was that the address was incomplete and she was advised not to send the item back because it wouldn’t get there. Another site shows the address is used by every Chinese scammer and that anything sent there won’t arrive.
I relayed this to the bank, they are adamant that I need to send it back tracked, which will cost £25 using RM, then if the retailer refuses a refund they can start a chargeback. I find this totally absurd, especially as according to the operative to whom I spoke, I only need to show proof that I’ve sent it not that it’s been delivered. Then I will need to send a photo of the sunglasses, copies of the email correspondence (15 so far!) to an email address they’ll supply after I’ve waited 15 days from sending them back. I find this incomprehensible, they can see how much I paid for the trainers, they even at one point suggested I accepted a partial refund that was being offered. If this is debit/credit card protection it’s pretty rubbish.
And yes, I should have been more thorough, ironic because I’m forever advising people not to buy from obvious scammers on FB and Insta 🙄 I’m presently wondering how to mock up a shipping label that “shows” I’ve posted it back lol.0 -

What is odd is Inov-8-uk.com do not show any UK address or contact no. They only have a contact us form & ask " Contact Our Customer Services Team Between 8:30am – 5.30pm, Monday To Friday (Excepting Bank Holidays)"
How did @soopberb get a returns address? Was it via the contact us form?

From a bit of searching.
I would be contacting below website & asking the .uk.com site is a official seller of their goods. If not get them to put this in writing & advise FD of this & the site used is a site selling counterfeit goods. Quite common with these sites to provide the wrong item.

How did @soopberb get a returns address? Was it via the contact us form?
I have had email correspondence with the scammers, as soon as I received the cheap glasses I contacted them via their email to me. So far I think there have been 16 emails. My bank said I needed a return address so I asked for one, what they gave by return, is one that it seems every scam Chinese outfit gives in the same circumstances and which it seems doesn’t exist. To send the glasses back will cost £12.50 tracked and there’s no guarantee they will arrive so of course the tracking will never show delivered which means that they aren’t likely to refund and I’ll be another £12.50 out. I’m still thinking about it! I’m very tempted to just send an envelope to the address which would be about a fiver, that way I’d have a tracking number, if that’s all the bank need it would be a better result.0 -
Sounds like it would be better to receive an empty box than sunglasses - that way there would be nothing to return.0
