TUI flights - no cash transactions onboard aircraft

Just a wee heads up for anybody who might be thinking of buying food or drinks etc. on TUI flights - they only accept cashless payments now.
Also, they don't take Revolut, Amex or pre-paid currency cards.
Does anybody know about Jet2, Ryanair and EasyJet ?

Ryanair are definitely cashless. I would have thought the others would be the same. Why bother with the hassle these days.EDIT: Quick check of the Jet2 website and they say they still take cash but would prefer card. easyjet looks to be cashless but couldn't find a definite answer.1

It speeds things up rather than faffing round having to find change during service and then process the cash before and after flights. And that's before the currency conversion issue and onboard exchange rates etc. There will proabably be passengers without a card or not willing to use one but they will be in the tiny minority and any lost sales will be irrelevant.0 -
Agreed. I was just flagging it up for info.

I think Easyjet are cashless too, I last flew with them in December.
Ryanair definitely are cashless, I've ended up using them a lot for business in the last few months. Make sure you ask to pay in Euro (a £2.85 coffee actually cost £2.54 the other week on my Barclaycard when paid in Euro). From experience in general though they've really upped their game in customer service in the last 2 years.
Pre-paid cards won't be accepted as they can't validate on board.💙💛 💔0 -
Just to clarify, on TUI flights it is only the Revolut prepaid cards that are not accepted. A regular Revolut debit card can be used, I did this successfully just last week.0

Easyjet went cashless just after covid, or at least that's when I started using them to fly again. I actually find it easier than rummaging around for money, especially as half the time they had no change and would have to make you wait until someone else paid in cash before giving you change.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. An interesting note is that I couldn't use my phone for contactless payment on Jet2. It insisted on "please insert card" which is quite a challenge with a mobile phone! This is extremely uncommon these days and, I assume, a side effect of them working offline.0

It's one situation where I can definitely see the benefit of card only payment. Customer and/or cabin crew faffing around trying to find and hand over change in a confined space just holds everything up. Certainly as well to know in advance about certain cards not being accepted, and phone payment not working either.
