perfect thanks, and its believed this would work? Despite the wording stating its 'clear signage' - just worried about it going up.

    thanks

It doesn't go up. You don't pay!

An appeal from a lessee/hirer pointing out the PPC's omissions cannot lose at POPLA as long as you DO NOT add anything implying who was driving.

Perfect. So, of the 3 template links in the newbie thread - there is only one from Edna - which I've looked it, at this references PCN - I'm assuming a PCN is where there is a ticket in the window (which I didn't get).

Can I use the same template, but amend the term PCN?

Also, is it better to write and post or to email/online.

No need. Edna is NOT talking about any windscreen PCN!  That acronym is used to describe postal notices too and his version is definitely dealing with a postal one because Highview only do those.

Thanks - so finally, am I ok to appeal online, given that I have to provide details? As long as i change the default 'DRIVER' to 'Registered keeper' (there are no hireee options)

Sorry, not au fait with the terms, looking at the letter the Lease company is the HIRER - therefore there is no option in the dropdown for my relationship to the vehicle, therefore is it better if I send a letter off and just sign it with a squiggle, and not my name?

I'm just nervous about providing contact details - but don't I need to provide this to get their response?

Absolutely not! Of course you have to appeal in your name. You are the hirer.

Sorry for being a newbie - absolutely not to which bit, the nervousness in providing details?

Via the online form the drop down box options are: DRIVER, REGISTERED KEEPER, DRIVER & REGISTERED KEEPER.

As I am 'neither' in this case, it makes me think I should appeal in writing (And sign it with my name and address??) but then theres the issue if its lost in the post?? why isn't there a hirer option on the online form?

    That is the 'Absolutely not'.

There is nowhere in the NEWBIES thread where we say not to provide your name and address in the appeal. You may just as well not post one or chuck it in the bin if it doesn't have your name and address as appellant.

I do say that if you have no choice but to post an appeal, then your SIGNATURE should be a squiggle (and I explain why...kind of obvious when you are dealing with scammers) but of course the appeal must include the name and address of the appellant.

Just do it online and choose registered keeper. That's their problem for not including the option to be the named hirer/lessee.

And double check it still says RK be fore you hit Submit ... even better, take a screenshot before you submit. (The online forms are often designed to default to Driver, so make sure that this one is the last one you check and set).
