    The card will take time to be produced and also a pin number sent out in a separate envelope ,probably takes about 2 weeks so not really a bad start from them ,if you needed the card that urgently you should have applied earlier so technically not a good start from you.
    I've had lots of cards and pins arrive the same day - even where they are sent on different days by the bank.
  • I am on the phone waiting to talk to their card services and the recorded message says there could be a delay upto 15 working days due to Royal Mail strikes/delays/backlog

    That's pathetic. I'm no fan of Royal Mail but it doesn't take them three weeks to deliver letters, and there aren't any Royal Mail strikes at the moment. That is a really poor attempt to deflect blame.

    fyi - if it's being sent second class it should be noted that that's not the same as the second class you or me use.  it will be a busines service so the card will go from where it is produced complete with all the paperwork it goes with to a mail room, then on to a mail company who will bundle things in their own special way and from there into the royal mail system.  So from production to royal mail is more likely to take a week and it's only at that point that you can start counting the RM timing.  Add a weekend or 2 and 10 plus days is very likely.

  • when my card was delayed and I thought it had went missing, MBNA offered to cancel the card, then reissue it and send by courier hence why I stuck with them

    I will give it until Monday then see if they can resend a new one by courier and if not i will cancel and go with another company. I will keep this discussion updated.
