Why am I being told who to use as courier?

You have selected for the item to be collected.JustAnotherSaver said:Spoonie_Turtle said:
Very strange. Did it tell you that before or after where you choose between printing the label yourself or for them to do it?JustAnotherSaver said:I actually tried to book in Tracked 48 earlier as I found the local Delivery Office does printing labels & what not.Went through the process only to get to a section where it seemed I had no choice - a postie would come to me.I'll have another bash later on and see what happens.I probably did something wrong because I can't see that the only option is for a postie to come to your door. Surely to god you must be able to drop the parcel off yourself if you want.
If you have the label QR code you can still drop off/print at the CSP.
A postie will still come to your house but just tell them you dont have an item.

So was I, but I now see my reasoning was misinformed - the price difference is negligible considering that (for me) there would be no hassle as it can be collected.custardy said:
Im talking in reference to signed forSpoonie_Turtle said:
I think it depends on what the person posting actually needs.custardy said:
well its a no brainer then.Spoonie_Turtle said:
I thought Tracked services covered up to £100, whereas Signed For is £50. Well, for personal customers anyway, maybe it's different for business accounts.custardy said:
I would always take Tracked over Signed for and roll the dice on compensation.Spoonie_Turtle said:'Recorded' is officially Signed For which covers up to £50, gets you a signature on delivery, and online delivery confirmation with the tracking number. I don't even know if it's tracked internally to find it if it goes missing (calling it a tracking number rather sounds like it ought to, but the customer gets no update until it's delivered or at least delivery attempted - same as standard).
Standard gives you a reference number on the PoP which you can look up in the tracker for delivery confirmation. So yes you can use standard for what you want.
Far superior service with infinitely better tracking/features
Signed for simply isnt worth it
For me, standard parcels tend to reach their destinations fine without tracking, and sometimes I literally just need the higher compensation amount. Tracked services are more expensive and require going out of the way to drop off at a CSP, so unless I need either the higher cover or proper tracking for some reason, I don't tend to choose that.
Either standard parcels or jump to Tracked. simply dismiss SF1 -
@JustAnotherSaver
You didn't do anything wrong-I had the exact same issue with Tracked48 this week- go ahead with selecting a collection day/time as you go through the steps of adding to basket- then once in basket you can delete the collection, while the item will remain in the basket.
It will show as two items, one for the parcel and one for the collection.
Collection can be deleted leaving you free to drop off the item.
The app certainly forced me to select the collection, there wasn't a choice before it was added to basket.
