    FURTHER UPDATE:

POPLA has confirmed to Penzance summer visitor Mark Roe that Parkingeye the operators of St Anthony's car park should not have 'fined' him because their signage is confusing.

    https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/jubilee-pool-wrong-over-confusing-11174438?int_source=amp_continue_reading&int_medium=amp&int_campaign=continue_reading_button#amp-readmore-target

    Mark Roe said:

"I think this opens up both Jubilee Pool and Parking Eye to multitudes of potential parking charge refund applications.

"Those parking charges paid on the basis of deliberately misleading signage have enriched the Pool and Parking Eye, without a care in the world about whether they were reasonable or valid in the first place.

"I hope that anyone who's been scammed into coughing up £60 or £100 will challenge the Pool and Parkingeye for a refund.

"Any outstanding "parking charges" should be cancelled by the Pool and Parkingeye, and if they have in fact finally bothered to change the payment arrangements/car park terms, then hopefully that's an end to this scam gravy train."

"Jubilee Pool doesn't escape responsibility just because they've outsourced car park management to a sub-contractor. Jubilee Pool could have seen sense and withdrawn the charge via Parkingeye. They chose not to, so I'll now be suing the Pool for my time which I gave plenty of notice about.

Oof. That Popla assessor's days are numbered. Can't allow appeals - that'll incur the wrath of the BPA.

Burnham needs to look at the whole CCJ system. I remember May promised to in 2017, but that was obviously lies.

    • reliance on the Royal Mail alone in this day and age automatically means at least 1 / 2% of court claims will never arrive and the same amount of CCJs will be awarded by default, a system on its own that needs investigation.

    • the process for applying to set aside a CCJ is expensive, cumbersome and wastes a great deal of court time.

    • it's absurd that paying a CCJ makes little material difference. There is little incentive for many people to pay, which affects both creditors and debtors. Paying a CCJ should wipe it from history, even if there should be an additional financial penalty if paid after 28 days.

Tell Burnham his "best friend" Zelensky has been given a CCJ and he'll be all over it in nanoseconds.

Ely Valley Rd 30min stay private car park in Talbot Green, Wales has long been used by people visiting the local area to run errands, drop or collect children at the nearby Primary School and visit businesses at the adjoining Ely Valley Rd Shopping Centre.

But in recent wks dozens of drivers using the site, even for just a few mins, have been hit with charges after the rules at the site were seemingly updated to sanction anyone who leaves the shopping centre land and car park.

Site operators New Generation Parking Management said "Parking is provided for customers actively using the onsite premises. Vehicles must therefore not be left within the car park while the driver leaves the shopping centre site to visit premises elsewhere."

This one has come up before.

Apparently the operator has left some older signs up which contain wording which does not mention the requirement to stay on site - worth noting in any appeal.
